The show made my cry like a baby, especially since I had just gone through a terrible breakup, but I genuinely don't know how this (or any show, honestly) would make someone want to slit their wrists.

I was totally moved by this play, saw it twice and I'm really happy it's getting a chance to play for a wider audience. Big thumbs up to whoever decided to put it on Broadway. And just because The Humans got brought up, IMHO, I felt Significant Other was a far superior play.
Spoiler... we've all lost love and I applaud the author for acknowledging that it's not just romantic or parental love that matters. Losing a friends love is painful and worthy of dramatic exploration too.
My favorite play in YEARS. Saw it twice at the Roundabout. So excited to get to see it at least one more time on Bway. Gideon Glick gives an incredible performance which will hopefully lead to a Tony nomination for him (and for the play).
This kind of performance could/should lead to breakout TV or film roles for Glick.

Per a notice from Roundabout, Glick and Mendez will be transferring.

It sounds like everyone is transferring:
I’m happy to announce that schedules and theaters have finally aligned, and Significant Other will be transferring to Broadway in early 2017 with its full cast and design team intact.

of all the Shubert theatres that are suitable to house a play, only the Cort Theatre is open atm, and has no future tenants announced... yet.
Another possibility is the Music Box Theatre. Shuffle Along is closing soon and no shows have booked the theatre as well.

It looks like there are limited American Express tickets available right now at $199. I really want to see this - I'm torn between buying ticket now or just wanting for general sales on Oct 17th. For anyone who has seen this - are there advantages to getting close to stage orch tickets as opposed to mezz?
That ticket price is absurdly high for a show that is not going to be an immediate hot ticket- if one at all.

$199? That's what I paid for HAMILTON. Yikes.
Canadian- the mezz at the Booth is very intimate, so you'll have no issues sitting there rather than the orch.

Thanks! I thot it was expensive. I'll wait for general sales and try the mezzanine!

I wish it could be preconceived. I think it suited the venue it was in, but I don't that set/design would work elsewhere, and felt a little problematic. And the play isn't bad, but I think it needs some work. Needless to say, this will do well regionally.

This play wrecked me when I saw it at the Pels in June 2015. It reminded me so much of the jealousy that sometimes arose in my friendships, particularly around romantic relationships in a really raw way. It was also totally hysterical--Gideon Glick in the email scene had the whole audience roaring with laughter. But also recognition because sending an email like that is something all of us in the online dating world are tempted to do. I wish this show lots of success on Broadway and look forward to seeing it again!

Does anyone recall the runtime when it played the Pels?
I want to say a little over 2 hours.

The Show Score page says 2 hours as well. It's been awhile so I couldn't recall.

The ticket prices are also lower now than the $199 previously mentioned:
Price Range
$49.00 - $147.00 (Ticket prices include a $2.00 Facility Fee.)

I'd say 2:15, including intermission.

Any way to know what the front row will be yet?
