I don’t think they’d cannibalize each other. I think Just in Time because of Groff is a way bigger draw than Doyle even in a Sinatra role (or maybe especially in a Sinatra role). They don’t want that competition.

IMO, anything that has DiPietro involved is a doo-bee-doo-bee-don't.
I did not see the Sinatra musical in England so maybe I’m making the wrong assumptions. But:
I don’t get the impression that the show has a gimmick, right? It’s a straightforward bio musical that tells a linear story of his first 40 years. It doesn’t have the novelty of JUST IN TIME’s nightclub structure, he didn’t die young like Darin, he wasn’t a Jewish girl trying to express herself through song, it doesn’t have multiple guys playing different aspects of Frank’s life, and it’s (probably) not an immaculate feat of staging & choreo like MJ. Does it even touch on the (alleged) mob stuff and his mercurial temper?
On top of it, Marshall & Landis (& Joe D) have been peddling around a lot of musicals over the years which have gone nowhere. They’re seen as stale goods.
Skip Broadway. Premiere it at NJPAC or Count Basie and tour it. The real money is on the road and licensing.
