I went to NYC during Spring Break last year. I chose shows that a) I haven't seen, b) were about to close, c) still had OBC, or d) weren't about to launch a national tour.
That said, my personal pick would be Young Frankenstein. With an OBC like that, I wouldn't want to have to wait for a future tour to see it.

I'll see.
Jersey Boys! Have a wonderful trip!
Find out what your grandparents have seen and tell us what you've seen.
"I would reccomend Cry Baby. You and your grandpa and your dad will all LOVE it."
Uh...
With my dad and grandparents?
I saw Spring Awakening with my mom. I wasn't uncomfortable but she said she was. I had a woman and her teenaged granddaughter next to me. They actually left at intermission. That said, I wouldn't go to Q. Try Chicago or Young Frankenstein.
What about Rent?

Curtains is a great family show. A lot of fun, AMAZING performances (especially by the supporting cast), and something the whole family can enjoy.

Ack!
these recommendations -- well intended, im sure -- some of these recommendations are so STALE!!!
see something NEW while you're here ... gram would have to love South Pacific, i'd think. A Catered Affair might be a little riskier (as in not as proven), but still worth considering. SITPWG, to be sure.
but, lordy: even a future nala isn't going to come to nyc and see "Lion King" again!?!

I'm also going during spring break and for once have no clue what I want to see (most of the shows I wanted to see have passed). What shows will have all/most of their OBC by April?
I'm also planning a trip for this spring and I'm seeing: In The Heights, A Catered Affair, Young Frankenstein, and probably something else... I just wish I knew when the tickets for ACA and Heights go on sale.
Too bad I have to choose one show.
Ok. These are the top four shows I have dicided on so far. Spring Awakening,The Little Mermaid,Rent, or Young Frankenstein.
well, out of those 4, I'd definitely say YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN- i think that's the most likely of those shows to please everyone in your group.
not to sound naggy, but I'd still reccomend JERSEY BOYS. it really is a great show, and by then, I'm pretty sure a mostly new cast will be in it, so that's pretty exciting.
Out of the ones you chose, I'd say YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, though I really recommend CURTAINS.
My dad is looking for a show that has celebrities in the cast. Does anyone know of any show like that right now? And besides Hairspray and The Color Purple.

So why do so many threads start with "So". Could we end this trite introduction.
Um sorry. And well?
The Drowsy Chaperone has Bob Saget in it. But I've never seen Drowsy so I can't really reccomend it. Out of the four shows you've mentioned, I've only seen Spring Awakening. I loved it, but, like I said. It could be a tad uncomfortable. The same with Rent. I'd go to Young Frankenstein.
