Songs that never get old for you.

For me it's

The I Love You Song (Spelling Bee)

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

re: Songs that never get old for you.

I havent been hooked on a song in years but just recently I discovered a track called "Watching the Show" from a show called THE TIMES. Mike Rupert sings it on a CD called "Broadway Bound: New Writers for the Musical Theatre". It appears to be about a struggling writer in NY, but I havent found much else about the show. It basically tells the story of this guy who aspires to greatness as a novelist and with each verse (he goes from 22 to 30 to 42) you hear about how his dreams are going to hell as well as his marriage. But it's catchy and has wonderful lyrics.

It's long and kind of repetitive, but I've been listening to it on a loop for like 2 weeks now. I will literally play it on repeat for an hour at a time while on the train or at work. I find myself singing it to myself out loud. It's odd, but I'm just addicted to it for now. Worth checking it out.
