Posted: 1/22/10 at 2:39pmI have read about the special performances where Spelling Bee was more R rated and dirty. I think it was performed twice with the original cast. I was wondering if anybody saw those performance and could tell how they were.

"Olive placed second in her school's Halloween costume contest."

It was this sort of thing. They spelled words like "c*cksucker." I want to say Barfee and Panch kissed? Two of the men, at least. The actors played the whole "we're breaking character to laugh because this is so funny!" bit after the kiss. And at the end of Pandemonium, there remained a giant pink dildo bouncing center stage that Rona slowly got up to put away.
The I Love You Song had Olive's mom discovering Scientology. She was wearing an alien headband and singing "Tommmm Cruuu-uuu-uuu-uuu-uuuise" at the beginning instead of her usual "Oooh"s. And Olive says: "...and my black dad says..." as her father enters.
Many other changes, those are just off the top of my head.
I ate it up.

Posted: 1/24/10 at 12:33pmI saw the regular Spelling Bee show a few times and the adult night in Chicago on one of the nights. I believe they did it several times. I thought it was great and the re-written stuff was very funny. Logan did a rant about Britney Spears' "shaved cooter" and how when she grows up she plans to follow her in political protest and be "Anti-Bush" There was some really good stuff. Somewhere online there is a list of many of the quotes from the show

Posted: 1/24/10 at 6:40pmThe cast at Mason Street Warehouse in MI did one after one of their regular performances as a benefit for the theatre. Chip was masturbating during the 'marigold' sequence before tittup. Also, and I'm not 100% sure on this, it was changed to "I Screwed 6 Mexicans"
