Jay is great, but Greg has really grown on me and I enjoy his performance as well.
I've heard that Jay is still involved in the creative process for coming up with sentences and words though, so I'm sure he would be consulted even if he wasn't at the adult show.
I love Bee- Ive only been able to see it three times (two lottos, one standing room), but Bee has been at the top of shows I am telling people to see for a while now. Although I am tired of having the "so it's about a spelling bee?" "yes" "like a regular spelling bee, they really spell words?" "yes" "and there's singing as well as spelling?" "yes" "and it's funny ???" conversation with my friends. :)
Can someone fill me in on parent-teacher night? I know it's where they spell 'adult' words, but how do you find out about what night it'll be- is it listed on the official website, etc.?
The first Parent/Teacher Night, the show started posting articles about it. It should also appear on spellingbeethemusical.com official site under special events. Again last time, no one under 17 was permitted to attend. I would say that not only were there more sophisticated words and nonsense sentences but that the difference extended to the tone , the interplay, behavior, and responses. It affected some of the song lyrics as well. That being said, I think there will probably be new surprises this go round. Given the improvisational nature of this show, the safe prediction is that there are no predictions. You need to experience it yourself....
Oh I would kill to go to one of those shows. I live too far away, though. Sad.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
