If they get pissy reviews again, (if?)
Will they close for another 2 months, hire a few new men and re-open?

I am wondering if all the same critics will re-review or if some media will have different critics attend...
I am so happy they are finally opening. All my best to the cast and crew. They have worked hard and must be thrilled to finally open!

Early review from Tim Malloy of The Wrap. He suggests further change in the show is still needed.
"To understand the heart of the musical -- which finally opens Tuesday, after many delays and injuries -- sit in the balcony. From there so you can watch the many daring aerialists who play Spider-Man run down the stairwells and climb over the railings, where they make their harnessed flights around the Foxwoods Theater.
... Like the show or not, but give its actors and stunt performers credit for guts.
The problem? It takes an awfully long time before we get to see them do their stuff. And "Spider-Man" makes a very bad first impression -- even after terrible reviews and extensive changes earlier this year, leading to the official opening. The remaining problems take place mostly in those dreary first 40 minutes, which muck up the webslinger's origins with asides involving military mercenaries and the myth of Arachne."

Nobody seems in a hurry to post The Hollywood Reporter review.

You can post it if you already have it, bk, feel free.
Whether they are good, bad, or indifferent, poster Margo Channing who used to set up review threads said he created them so there would be a record, an online source for their collection. It's been said he has passed on. LimelightMike sometimes makes them, but I'm not sure how much recently.
I only saw this article in Hollywood Reporter and it is not a review, so I didn't post it.

Why is that Hollywood Reporter article such a copy editing disaster?

"The one entirely new number added since the show’s hiatus for retooling is the Green Goblin’s “A Freak Like Me,” a shapeless rap-rock mix that sounds like a Lady Gaga reject."

Thanks for the Hollywood Reporter review, Trish2.
Another quote from their review:
"while the emergency surgical team has injected fanboy humor and self-conscious acknowledgments of the production's rocky gestation, they have not located a heart in this bloated monster"

Also, from the Hollywood Reporter article about Carpio, did we hear about her March whiplash injury before?
"Carpio, who was sidelined for two weeks in March after sustaining whiplash on stage, says she thinks the safety measures on the trouble-plagued show are a little over the stop. She replaced actress Natalie Mendoza, who dropped out after a piece of equipment hit her, leaving her with a concussion.
"For instance, Chris Tierney, the one who fell, has three tethers to him, it's like triangle. He thinks it's a bit extreme as well. Before it was just one," says Carpio. ""

It's like Bono has a goal to make himself more and more unlikable. Also from The Hollywood Reporter,re Julie Taymor:
"She poured so much of her life into this," said Bono. "I think she probably knew there were serious problems. But we disagreed on how big a fix was needed.
"I miss her," he added. "But we had to make it work. In the end, the Edge and I have got good manners, we're fun ... but we're motherf--ers."

The producers have already responded to the early reviews. Is this going to be a long night of posts? Do I need the liter size of Grey Goose?!
"Given how thinly the figures onstage register as characters, there’s insufficient suspension of disbelief to make you forget all the visible hardware -- cables, harnesses and a noisy winch scraping back and forth across the proscenium – employed to make the flying happen."
Agreed. That's why I wasn't that impressed with the flying. I was way more impressed with some of the sets.
"With Taymor serving as scapegoat, U2’s Bono and the Edge, who wrote the forgettable music and lyrics, have been largely exonerated for their role in this $70 million folly. But it’s their mediocre score, as much as anything, that makes this third-rate entertainment. Their attempts to write for specific characters are hampered by overly literal lyrics. Songs such as “D.I.Y. World” or “Pull the Trigger,” both led by Osborn, are shockingly inept, bringing nothing to the story."
I agree with DIY World and Pull the Trigger
