"They should have put Anderson in Spandex and had him rescue Kathy from the top of the TKTS booth."
And she should have been in that black lace bra she had on after Gaga's performance!

Posted: 1/1/12 at 3:17pmWell, that saved me $145! The show looks as bad as I thought it would! And Bobbybaby, I enjoyed Bonnie and Clyde! Spiderman looks like an expensive turd.

What does a cheap turd look like?
Wait! I know! Baby, It's You!

Posted: 1/1/12 at 3:26pmThere's no better example of a cheap turd than BKLYN:the Musical!

I would also like to point out that bobbybaby keeps TRYING to make witty jokes, but they fail...hard.

"I just want to point out that it's ironic that people who enjoyed this spot are also Bonnie and Clyde fans." - bobbybaby 85
"That's not ironic." - Kad
As SNAFU has pointed out, it isn't even accurate. I didn't like B&C or Spider-Man. I thought the NYE stunt was a giggle, though, and I think they knew how ridiculous it was going to look. Even Griffin's "ad-lib" ribbing was prepared in advance.

For those watching the link that EJM provided and thinking if it was fun if overlong, you're not getting a good representation of what actually went down on the air. There were, I would guess, two minutes preceding this that are not shown in the clip.
Keep in mind, there were sound issues all night. The balance was out of whack whenever Andy (which I call him) and Mrs. Kathy were talking. The crowd noise was mixed too loud, and often you had to struggle to understand them with the concert performances on other networks bleeding into CNN's feed. It's odd, because when they would go down to the crowd for a CNN reporter down there, you could hear them perfectly, with the ambient noised mixed down lower.
So anyhoo, all of a sudden, the camera shifts up to the Jumbotron, where we see the first (not included in the clip) couple of minutes of the Green Goblin's appearance. Again, you had to actually struggle to hear it. There seemed to be a complete presumption that the crowd below and audiences at home immediately knew it was the Green Goblin from Spider-man. So we were treated to barely audible lines from GG that included something about WWFN, which was later explained in the segment with Cooper, but, really, too much "plot," too much yammering, too hard to hear. Unfortunately, a camera pointed up at a Jumbotron does little to convey any sense of at-home connection.
Then, another thing you don't see on the clip, the camera cuts out and the screen goes black. It stays black for a couple of seconds, flashes back on and blacks out a few more times, then EVENTUALLY, the clip you see at the link takes over. It was a lot like watching the Tonys that disaster year when everything went wrong. Terrible.

Thanks for letting us know how bad it really was, even though we didn't share that terrible experience with you?
I guess I don't like it as much as I did before, now that you've told me how awful what I saw was.

Thanks for your approval - and seriously, thanks for the info, but what one sees on the air is never the whole thing.
Do you think they should have run the flawed clip unedited? I'm not sure what your point is in telling how awful the raw product was.

Fair enough, Jordan. The first sentence:
"For those watching the link that EJM provided and thinking if [sic] it was fun if overlong, you're not getting a good representation of what actually went down on the air "
kinda sounds like you really shouldn't think it was fun, because you don't know what really went on. Just struck me the wrong way. No big woop. Live performances like this always have all kinds of issues.

Posted: 1/1/12 at 8:33pmSeriously, for Christ's sake. My point was if you thought it was "good" but overlong, you might not think so if you'd known it was actually EVEN LONGER and made less sense than the edited. Christ.

Posted: 1/2/12 at 2:33amI thought his point was quite clear. The link does not accurately portray what was seen during the live broadcast, and that perhaps if they had seen the live broadcast (instead of the video provided in the link) they would have a better understanding of why people are complaining about how long and bad it was.
