St. James is confirmed for Finian's Rainbow.
Last I heard, Neil Simon was rumored for Love Never Dies, but something might slip in there for a limited run first.

Posted: 6/17/09 at 4:28pm^ The Neil Simon seems to be VERY booked. There are still rumors floating around about Dirty Dancing playing there, and then there is Robin Williams Show, then Ragtime, then Love Never Dies.

Electric Bugaloo was going to take the Neil Simon but that was before Webber decided to delay the productions of the show. Now, it is not sure when it is going to open on Broadway or London or Shanghi or mars or wherever he decideds to do it.
But I do believe that if Ragtime is comming back to Broadway then it will be taking The Neil Simon.
Also, I believe that now that Robin Williams is better he is continuing with his tour and plans to do Broadway yet again so that might also be going to the Neil Simon as previously planned.

Unless Robin Williams restarts the tour in September on Broadway, then it won't happen until December at the earliest, as he is booked solid from 9/30-11/28. And the show won't necessarily go into that theater as originally planned, all of the tickets were refunded.
Besides the show was going to run for a week anyway, it's not like it would be a total hindrance to an incoming production.

Posted: 6/17/09 at 4:41pmI don't know when he will make it to Broadway, but he rescheduled his entire tour. He'll becoming to my town as previously planned, which is the closest thing to a pre-Broadway tryout that Knoxville, TN will ever get.

Posted: 6/17/09 at 7:10pmYes, it is. Also, does anyone kind of wish Ragtime would go into a small theatre which can still hold a musical Ragtime's size, like the Music Box or Longacre? How big is Ragtime, anyway? I know it's a gigantic cast, but what about sets?

It is good to see something original opening and musical, been a drop in original musicals, down 20% on last year, maybe the current financial climate, guess producers have lost there nerve, so hence there are a lot of plays around and revivals.

I love Finian's Rainbow, but I think they're taking a risk transferring it from City Center. I think it'll be a wonderful production and I have a feeling it'll do fairly well, but it's definitely not a sure shot.

Memphis is going into the Shubert, starting September.
I'm wondering where Addams Family will go. We'll probably find out around Labor day after the next wave of closings.

Posted: 6/18/09 at 12:01pmnot that it makes much of a difference, but is the Jacobs just going to sit empty this summer? I mean, I guess God of Carnage won't be closed long enough for even a limited run of something to slip in, but I was just wondering.

The Group Sales tickets are being sold for the Lunt-Fontanne, so it's pretty much guranteed it's going there.

The show's producers are paying rent during its dark period, so no other show will be able to take that space even if they wanted it.

Ouch
Thought Mermaid was holding its head above water?

Posted: 6/18/09 at 2:10pmThere is an entire thread dedicated to this: but the gist is that most think that Mermaid might transfer to a smaller space.
