Donna Murphy, Mary Testa, and Jane Krakowski. Those are the only solo albums I'd buy in a heart-beat regardless of the material included.

Add me to the Orfeh list and the sooner the better. I know she has concrete plans to make a solo album at long last this year and nothing better get in the way of that happening.

FYI, FosterChild, Sara Ramirez is slowly working on a solo album. They had just begun the creative process spring of last year. Eric Idle and John DuPrez are writing and have said they don't want to rush it. With them writing it should be interesting to say the least.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Orfeh, definitely.
Andy Karl is a singer/songwriter so I would love to see an album from him with his own work on it.
Kate Shindle has an old, old solo album, but something newer would be great. I honestly could listen to her sing the alphabet.
Sierra is another great vocalist, and I would love to hear her sing some upbeat numbers.
And I would love the Broadway Boys to come out with a solo album if that counts. There is SO much talent in that group.

Like Grand said, it's happening so YES to an Orfeh solo album. I'm also happy to hear Sara Ramirez is working on one too. As for others, Andy Karl would be a dream to listen to and Norm Lewis, I'd love to hear him to a contemporary album, no theater tunes!

Kelli O'Hara's solo album is coming out soon!!!
http://www.theatermania.com/content/news.cfm/story/12186
"On January 26, O'Hara will perform a solo concert as part of Lincoln Center's American Songbook series -- and it promises to be a very eclectic affair. "I'm trying to have it coincide with the release of my album on Ghostlight Records -- even though I recorded it for Sony over a year ago. Harry Connick, Jr. [O'Hara's Pajama Game co-star] did all the arrangements. It's very mellow, with a casual jazz feel to it." While O'Hara is still putting the songlist together, she has made some definite selections. "I'm going to do a couple of Harry's songs, a song written by Greg called 'The Sun Went Out,' and a song I wrote called 'Here Now," she says. "I'll definitely do some standards, perhaps something from Pajama Game, and definitely something from Ricky Ian Gordon. I may also do this arrangement of 'Fable' from The Light in the Piazza that Harry did for the album --even though Adam Guettel may hate it. It's a version of how I think Clara heard the song -- as a lullaby sung by her mother. I think it's very interesting."

I just wish, I know this may come out wrong, but I wish Orfeh's solo project will be a bit bigger than the typical "Broadway star with a solo album" thing. She's so talented and her music is so contemporary and fun, I could hear a lot of the things she does on the radio, and see her becoming an international star. If only...

Ooh! I'm excited to hear Kelli, Sara and Norm all are working on CDs. They are all phenominal.
Personally I'd like to see Mara Davi and Donna Murphy make an album. I also would love it if Julia Murney made another CD, I adore the one she has!

Kelli O'Hara (Jazz album?? NOOOO.)
Jenn Gambatese
Josh Strickland
Cheyenne Jackson
Sutton Foster
But I want them all to do a Broadway album. I don't listen to any of the non-Broadway albums Broadway actors have come up with because I've hated a lot of them.

Kelly, I woudn't be worried about Orfeh's solo album not getting the attention it deserves. Remember, unlike most of the Broadway people who want to make records after the fact, Orfeh comes from the music biz, not the other way around. I think she'll do fine with the mainstream.

I really wish Sara Ramirez' album was more of a Broadway album rather than new songs, especially since I don't care for Idle and DuPrez (as much as I love "Diva's Lament," though that has more to do with Ramirez' take on it than the song itself). Imagine how great it would have been getting an album with the composers from shows Ramirez has been in in the past (I'm thinking of Sondheim, would love to hear her rendition of "The Miller's Son.")

Lauren Pritchard for sure, and John Gallagher Jr. I think Lauren might actually already have an album in the works, from what her MySpace page implies. Definitely Norbert Leo Butz as well.
