I thought the production was scorched-earth-devestating... but it still seems like an odd choice. "This was Mr. Albee's decision..." Interesting.

I saw this in January. Letts is absolutely amazing and I see them both being top contenders for Tonys next year.

This is welcomed news but I was really hoping that the next VIRGINIA WOOLF would star Patti LuPone and Boyd Gaines. Ah, well....

Well, I already made this for an English class project 2 weeks ago. Who would have thunk it would actually come to fruition.
Yes Yes Yes 100x Yes! This is seriously one of the greatest productions I have ever seen. I can't wait until 2012!
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! I couldn't get to D.C. to see it this year, so I was devastated. I am soooooooo happy. Can you say Tony Award winner Amy Morton?
And Tony Award winner Tracy Letts! I know we don't know what other plays will be around then, but I can't say enough about this production. It deserves every award. I've never seen a production that changed the way I view theater, and writing, and human connection to the extent that this production did. Wow I need to stop posting because I'm just going to incoherently ramble.
Wow, I adore Amy Morton! This is not to be missed, spectacular news indeed
Yay! I was so upset that I missed Amy Morton in this production. Now I'll get to see it!
Excellent news! I can't imagine anyone topping Kathleen Turner but I'll be there the first night to see!

Love Amy Morton. I will see this. I just wish it would be Fall 2011.

Oh, please Jordan, you didn't see Uta Hagan, Elaine Stritch or Colleen Dewhurst as Martha. They were all sensational.
(LuPone would be better, though!)
I've seen it. It is great. The cast had the entire audience eating out of their hands in all three acts. Morton and Letts were incredible (and looked incredibly exhausted by curtain call, I can only imagine doing that night in and night out).
The latest one with Turner & Irwin was great & did no business. Why do it again?
It makes sense to do it again artistically... the take is VERY different from traditional productions (without being revisionist or changing a word of the text). For me it was like seeing the play for the first time. It does seem like a big risk financially.
And while Amy Morton may well win the Tony, it's Tracey Letts and Carrie Coon are giving the big performances.
Amy can win the Tony she didn't get for August! YAY!
