She basically announces that she no longer wants to perform in the public anymore. So that rumor of her reopening the Palace isn't happening(likely Gaga or Adele then).

Does not want too, does not mean will not. It is all about the Money. She has never wanted to preform live. I think her total live concert performances are only 125 in 60 years. If the money is right...

Seeing Gayle's tour of Barbra's cellar (or "mall" as Gayle names it)only reminded me that "Buyer & Cellar" was the funniest, and, surprisingly, one of the most touching things I've ever seen on stage. Kudos to Tollins & Urie for that magic. Didn't think the streaming version did it justice.

Um, Streisand is the one who introduced this as her mall and its been called this ever since.
Also, how many segments are there of this damn CBS Sunday Morning?! Another one surfaced this morning, not counting the Mo Rocca one.

I'm a huge Barbra fan, but at 81 I doubt she has the pipes to sustain multiple concerts anymore. A few years ago on Fallon she attempted a duet with him and that night her voice just wasn't there, so she laughed and giggled her way through it. The human voice ages too, and I doubt she would want to be heard unless she were to be at her best. Recordings in the studio may still be possible though.

I just watched this. It wasn't long before steam started coming out of my ears.
Deep in the Streisand mall. "Barbra, no-one else has this at their homes, you're aware of that, right? Most people build gyms, or media rooms..." says Gayle King.
They do? Maybe in the circles YOU mix in, Gayle.
We then move on to the Barbra Museum. Palatial antique clothes rooms. "This here I had embroidered to meet the Queen of England..." she tells us.
Hm, okay. I love you Barbra, but is this the best way to convince us to buy your book?

The self-righteous championing for the poor is tired, Lerner-Z. I suggest you be more realistic with your expectations. I’m not looking for a woman who built a mall in her basement, or Oprah’s BFF, to really be thinking like the every day person.
Which is exactly why they are intriguing and why people buy things like their books, or engage in their other projects. It’s not rocket science.

She reconfirmed on The Howard Stern Show interview she will never sing in public again and unless some directorial project sparks her interest, this book was her way of segueing into full time retirement. Her voice is pretty much shot and it is quite clear just watching her speak today and is evident from her first sentence on her audiobook. The raspiness in her voice today speaks volumes.

The rumors of Barbra playing The Palace, Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, etc....have been around for many a decade.
Jay Lerner-Z, as I'm sure you're already aware, many people being interviewed will guide the interviewer through their home. Not unusual at all. Then the network decides to edit down the entire interview to fit a specific time slot. She's proud of her home.

Does she really get her dogs cloned, or is that just a myth?
