Ok, so it's not a show, but she does mainly showtunes and standards on the album, so I put it here.
Anyone else get it???? It's an AMAZING CD. Her medley of "Carefully Taught" and "Children Will Listen" is nice. It has some dialogue with it, and she never gets too politcal or preachy, and for being over 60, her voice is still in top form.
Def. a reccomended CD, and one of my top "new" ones of the year.

Big big Streisand fan here, but her voice is definitely not in top form. I think she sounds terrible. Very very sad to hear.
If you are a big fan, you will need to buy this twice - once at Barnes & Noble for the bonus track When The Sun Come Out and then again at Target for two bonus tracks - Stoney End & the full version of Don't Rain On My Parade.
I would have loved to see here in Paris but she is charging too much for a seat.Between 130 and 600 euros (160 and 700 US Dollars).
I would have loved to see her but paying 130 eruos is just too much as those seats are behind the sage and the orchestra.
Barbra's voice on the cd is in tip top shape. It's so hard to believe that our "Funny Girl" is 65 years old. As anyone ages, your speaking and singing voice changes....fact of life.
I'm going to London to see her in concert and I can't wait. I saw her 4 times on this last tour.
She sounds terrific!
Thanks for the heads-up with the TARGET 2 bonus tracks, which I prefer over the single bonus track via BARNES & NOBLE.
I was fortunate to attend her concert in Ft. Lauderdale (which was filmed for future HBO special and DVD), and she did "Stoney End" here. She didn't do the entire song, though...but her comments about the song when she stopped singing it were priceless.
Gotta love her.
Did anyone get the TARGET release? I did and it does NOT contain those 2 bonus tracks mentioned ("Stoney End" and longer "Don't Rain on My Parade"). I'm returning this p*ucker tomorrow.
Ugh!
Huh?
She sounds terrible: old and lazy. And that stage patter. All off of the teleprompter.
Besides the 'crazy' fans, who will buy?
Gee...old and lazy? That's a bit harsh, isn't it? Let's hope that when we are all 65 years old, we sound as good as she does.
And, if anyone thinks they can do better...then by all means....go tour the US and sing out to sold out concerts.
I stopped listening to her when she decided to do those limited tours. By touring standards, I don't think she "tours the United States" Also, when Amendment 2 was happening here in Colorado (The gay rights Amendment), she issued a statement that people should boycott our state. And then she did nothing to help the cause. We thought she would in some way lend her support to have it overturned after that statement but she didn't. The gay community did it on their own. I have lost some respect for her. Actually a lot.
I completely agreed with Barbra and her stance on Colorado back in 1992/93 when that happened. Barbra never said that she was in charge of reversing the decision...nor was she expected to...by anyone...gay or straight.
Barbra is very political in her beliefs, as are most citizens of this country. When a celebrity can use their celebrity to their advantage and educate the public, that's terrific. Barbra has said repeatedly in interviews, that she has no desire to ever hold office.
That's too bad that you're disappointed. I guess it would have been easy to assume that Barbra was going to overturn it. Just hate for you to have had your hopes on something that Barbra never said she was going to fix.

We did not expect her to overturn it. She doesn't have that kind of power anyway. Our upset as a gay community is that a performer of her "stature" would come out and say that, not knowing really what was going on here. We as a gay community did not want the state boycotted. That was not our goal. We never asked for the state to be boycotted. We just wanted the amendment overturned. I am assuming that you do not live in CO. And if you do, than you were not active in or were not paying attention to what was going on within the gay community. Nor do you know the controversy over the wording of that amendment and how a whole lot of straight people thought they were voting in favor of the gay community when, in fact, they were not. Ms. Streisand evidentally did not take the time to find these things out, or she would not have called for the boycott.
No, I don't live in Colorado. I live in Los Angeles. I was in Denver in October, transferring planes, going to Minneapolis to see Barbra in concert.
Maybe, she misspoke in terms of the actual wording of the amendment when she said that? Who knows? We weren't there.
I remember at the time that there was a lot of controversy over the entire Amendment.
So, because she, perhaps got the facts wrong, you've lost respect for her...a person you've never met? To each his own...absolutely. To me, that's just odd. For me personally, I don't focus on the negative, only the positive. Seems like just a waste of energy.
That's one of the many great things about this board, is how you can "agree to disagree" and share your thoughts and views. Barbra would be proud of us both. Ha, ha...

We really didn't have to meet her. She is a star. When she speaks, people listen, to an extent. her statement came out of nowhere and took us by surprise. You yourself said she is very political in her beliefs, which we all know. She is not a stupid woman which is a reason why we were surprised she made the statement without doing her homework, so to speak. So yes, I and a lot of other people here lost respect for her because she made thing a bit harder for the community I belong to without supporting the community she was "so called" behind by making that statement.
And I VERY much remember that whole time. I lived it and helped fight for the overturn.
If you want to discuss this further, feel free to PM me. Don't want to take over this thread with this subject as it is about her tour. I was just responding with my feelings initially.
I bought mine from Target and it definitely has the two bonus songs. It also had a sticker on it indicating it was an exclusive Target release. Did you get it online or from a brick & mortar store? Their website doesn't make mention of an exclusive release so it may just be in store only.
It's my opinion which I am entitled to.
She sounds old and tired.
And I also feel tired listening to her records post-Brolin marriage.
All that talent and all that laziness.
Shame.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion...not even an issue. I'm sure you're smart enough to realize when you say something so absurd, people will question it.
When you're 65 years old, you go out on tour and perform to sold out crowds. If you can do any better, then go right ahead.

Good Lord. I see I am trying to have a conversation with a crazy.
If she can sell out crowds, fine. There are people who have never seen her before and if they enjoyed themselves, fine.
I am saying that there are fans, like myself, who feel that love, politics, and pretense have killed her career. When this CD flops will she care? I bet SONY will.
I'm far from crazy...just a very logical, and common sense person. There are a few people on this board, who shall remain nameless, who clearly, have mental problems and that's disturbing. I've met a few of them.
We can agree to disagree, absolutely.
Some do feel that Barbra is past her prime. Is that correct......who knows? Like any artist, you can't just "turn off" your creative juices like a water faucet. That's impossible.
I saw her 4 times in concert on her 2006 tour and I'm going to London to see her in July. Of course, the voice has changed, everyone's does as we age....that's a fact of life. Did it ever occur to me that she's past her prime...not in a million years.

The change in her voice bothers me but she still is amazing. I love the CD. What? Target has 2 bonus tracks? Argh, I bought mine at FYE. I think I would have to go and get it again. NOW.
Yes, Target has 2 extra tracks. As of today, Sunday, Target's $9.99 price for the double cd is now back to it's regular price of $19.99.
The 2 tracks are "Don't Rain on My Parade" and a short version of "Stoney End."
ITunes has "Woman in the Moon" and if you date her son he will give you "Guava Jelly" live.
I bought this CD today, amazing.
Her voice is still beautiful for her age.
"Besides the 'crazy' fans, who will buy?"
For not being one of the 'crazy' fans you always seem to make your voice heard whenever Barbra is mentioned.
You also seem to know a lot about both the CD itself and the extra different tracks. So you must care enough to know about such things.
Mmmmmmm.
"mmmmmmmmm"?
If you are unable to engage in a mature conversation then forget it.
By crazy I refer to those who refuse to look at BS, or any other celebrity for that matter, as a person with flaws.
