Hi All,

Apologies if this is an ignorant question but other than being a price gouging, there's nothing that could go wrong with buying Broadway tickets on stubhub, right? I'm looking for Music Man tickets and that seems to be the only place that has them for certain nights.

Thanks!

My parents use StubHub all the time whenever they decide to search for last-minute tickets at decent prices, and nothing has gone wrong for them. Go ahead and buy if you so choose.

They have a 100% guarantee. If the tickets are not delivered, or if there is some issue with ownership, duplicates, etc, Stubhub will use its best efforts to replace them with comparable and will refund the money if they cannot cure the problem to your satisfaction. The risk of a problem is greater with physical tickets than electronic ones. (If there are still physical tickets.) I have bought via stubhub many times. I have only had one problem (a baseball game, not theatre tickets) and they were great. That was at least 5 years ago but I assume they are the same or better. I would not worry (except about that hole in your bank acct) Stub Hub

Thank you both! I have used StubHub for other things but not Broadway shows so just wanted to double check!

I’ve used StubHub quite a few times, mostly for sports tickets without issue. One of the few times I used it for theatre (for one of the last few performances of Hello, Dolly!), the tickets were for a seat that had already been scanned in. Me and two other people were standing in the lobby with the same exact seat on the phone with StubHub and they said, in effect, “oh well, nothing we can do.” They sold the same seat multiple times that day and that didn’t raise any flags.

I got my money back, but by the time it was all sorted I wasn’t able to get tickets for another show and was just SOL for the night.

Many people use StubHub without issue, but my advice is get there super early. At least this way you’ll be the first to enter with that ticket.

I use StubHub for Broadway tickets often. Usually an hour or 2 before a show the resellers will mark them down in hopes to sell them at all. You can get an often expensive seat for a good deal.

I've used Stubhub in the past and never had a problem. Note though that prices right now will probably by sky high. Normally tickets tend to decrease the closer we get to performance time.

As of today, this is what I saw written on telecharge Music Man tix page:

"Buy tickets now for any performance through January 17, 2022, and you can either refund or exchange your tickets into any other date until 48 hours before the performance. You may exchange an order up to three times and refund once per show per month. Terms are subject to change."

My guess then is stubhub tickets for Music Man may decrease perhaps 48 hours before the performance when the reseller will decide whether to get a refund from the box office or chance it on stubhub.

I’ve used stub hub for concerts, sports and shows. And, I’ve never had any issue. And, they were quick to resolve if there was one.

Interestingly enough, there was even one time where, on their own went out of their way to help me. I bought a ticket to a Mets game. When I got there I noticed that my ticket had changed from my seat to a wheelchair space. I called and they said that they noticed something off about the ticket I initially bought and proactively changed my seat to a better one. When I told them that I was very appreciative, it was for a wheelchair spot. They apologized and fixed it right away since that was unclear on their end. Glad they looked out.

I've gotten tickets thru Stubhub twice and both turned out well.

The first time was getting last minute tickets for Book of Mormon very early in its run and got an amazing price for first box seats.  The second time was for last minute tickets for the tryout show of BackOnBway at the Curran In San Francisco ( best front row seats I ever got).  But I am still wary of secondary sellers - they now all seem to source their tickets from one central supplier ( presumably the one who is "investing" in all those desirable seats) because I sometimes see the same seat being offered by different secondary market sellers.

Good luck for getting tickets to The Music Man. If you were looking for dates in December 2021, that seems quite impossible to get now.  Unless you want to turn to secondary market sellers?

Those fees are too much for me. But, if you are flexible and can wait around until like 30 or 15 minutes before a show, you can get an amazing deal.
