Sweet Charity to transfer next season

Hilarious - the widow of Cy Coleman makes an off-handed remark that has been verified by NO ONE and we get a thread whose headline states it as a fact. It'll be a fact when someone has the money to do it and if someone had the money to do it you'd have heard about it. You may, in fact, hear about it in the future if they can raise the dough, but here you all are, choosing the theater and wondering if they'll come in in the fall or the spring. Funny stuff.

Bruce is, once again, the one sober voice in a silly thread. A vague comment from Riedel and Coleman's widow (who was only with him for a few years before the old-enough-to-be-her-father composer passed away) is hardly reason to believe a transfer is happening.

It's just more wishful thinking (in a bottomless well of wishful thinking and pointless conjecture).

The show has been rumored to have been planning a transfer since before its opening night off-Broadway... I don't think it's that far of a stretch. There are some far crazier rumors flying around this board than this one, what's wrong with a little discussion?

I really hope if this does come back they will take a cue from the rapturous response to Hello Dolly and do something a little more faithful to the original production. Let's face it, the only reason to do this on a Broadway is Sutton and I think she would be much better served by the original Fosse choreography.

I agree, plus Kevin McCollum (another Broadway nobody is producing...).

I'm guessing this comes in late winter/early spring, they would likely rehearse in late January, start previews around Valentine's Day, open early march for a limited 3-4 month engagement through the Tonys, then conclude so Sutton can resume shooting the next season of Younger...

You guys have poor attitudes. Why come here and squash the "wishful thinking" if you really don't think it's going to happen? Why do you care? It comes off as incredibly condescending and rude.

Considering the main reason it was rumored to not transfer this season was the Sutton, will be filming the new season of Younger in the spring, this should not be a surprise to anyone.

Oh please! Let's spread some fairy dust and clap our hands. The last revival of this show was a bust. We don't need another.
