I'm excited to hear thoughts on this. I won't be able to make it to NJ during the run, though I have a friend in the cast and I wish the entire team well.

I'm going later in October and am looking forward to it. With a cast like this, i don't see how it can miss!!

This'll transfer eventually, right? Recent Papermill productions (Newsies, Honeymoon in Vegas, Bandstand, Bronx Tale) have transferred to Broadway with varying degrees of success.

Is this still the version workshopped a few years ago, where Ralph and the gang are "real people" and acquaintances of the real Jackie Gleason that inspire his show?

I see Papermill really jacked up their ticket prices this year.

Why is the balcony so expensive?! It's huge and so far away. And there are a ton of open seats tomorrow.

Papermill puts a few shows on Broadway and they think they can charge Broadway prices now. A few seasons ago, it was quite easy to get BOGO tickets for any show there($60 total). Now $100+ a ticket, come on!!

I got 2 seats in the rear side orchestra for $106 total, not horrible but not cheap either.
I noticed that the same seats are $39 vs $53 at some performances.

America’s Favorite Dreamers Shoot for the Moon
The Honeymooners is a brand-new musical comedy inspired by the classic television series. Ralph Kramden and his buddy Ed Norton are back and still shooting for the moon in this world-premiere musical. After shocking their wives by winning a high-profile jingle contest, they are catapulted out of Brooklyn and into the cutthroat world of Madison Avenue advertising, where they discover that their quest for the American Dream might cost them their friendship. Filled with big laughs and an infectious score, The Honeymooners will bang-zoom its way into your heart.

I saw The Honeymooners last night (Opening Night) at Paper Mill Playhouse. With very little tweaking (i.e., Act 2 is a bit long and drags at times- so perhaps cut just 1 song), this is Broadway ready now. Not only Broadway ready, but Tony nominee quality.
Michael McGrath and Leslie Kritzer shine as Ralph and Alice Kramden. I am so happy that these stage veterans will finally have leading roles that fully showcases their singing and comedic skills. They are both that good.
If it was me, I would shoot for the 2018 Broadway season so not to compete with The Band's Visit Frozen and/or Mean Girls.

I paid $39 for my ticket and it was mid-Orchestra. Excellent seat.

Where is this Broadway assumption stemming from? A possible Broadway transfer has never been mentioned in regards to this musical.

Are you going during the week? I'm looking at tonight and the lowest is $59 and that's in the last row of the orchestra.

Plus the cast they have for this are all Broadway vets. Possibly Spring 2018?

If the show gets good reviews, my guess is their coming to B'way this season will depend upon whether or not they can get a theatre that fits their needs.

I feel like if this transfers, this season or not, it will go into the Nederlander, or if Kinky Boots closes in January, the Hirschfeld

Reports are that KINKY BOOTS has a name coming in for the winter, so this won't be going into the Hirschfeld. But I could definitely see it going into the Nederlander.

Caught it last night. It needs pruning trimming and cutting badly. Some Songs need to go. Some repetitive material needs to go. I'd be interested to see it two or three weeks from know after they do the pruning. In its present form, it is not ready for Broadway as someone on here said.
It was the second preview and I am told they are going to do just that... prune trim and cut. Its one thing to watch a 22 and half minute sit-com but its quite another to watch at 2 hour 45 minute sit com with music.
Michael McGrath and Leslie Kritzer are superb in their roles. And the terrific Michael Maestro is a big improvement on the great Hank Azaria (who was miscast) in the reading. Laura Bell Bundy does well with Trixie but that part doesn't make much sense as a former burlesque queen. It's as if they are trying to ressurrect Adelaide from Guys and Dolls. In fact, the show is at its worst when it's derivative of Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business, Bye Bye Birdie and other classic musicals. When Michael Walters comes out as the Calvacade Host.... things perk up! The Calvacade star provides the most clever part of the evening.
Here is the song list:
Going Places
King of the Castle
Eight eight keys
Undeniable
The Madison Avenue Line
Upshaw and Young
Infine La Felicita
Trixie's Audtion
Toast of the Town

To the moon
Your'e one of our Kind
Keepin it warm
Love Gone down the drain
The Racoons Hymn
A woman's work
I'll Miss the Guy
Faciamatta Commercial
Baby Your'e the Greatest.
