Time Out (David Cote) is positive (4 stars):
"Critics were invited to see Linney and Nixon in both roles to comment on their range, but I only had time to see Linney’s Regina. This is such a richly satisfying revival, I’m going back for seconds."

Someone said that Linney is better as Regina and Nixon as Birdie.

Happy to read Gerard single out Richard Thomas. He truly deserves a Tony nomination for his work.

Earlier, I posted these clips from MTC on the previews thread, but I'm adding them here as a point of reference, for anyone interested.

Thrilled by these positive notices! My marathon day of seeing both women's takes on their roles will be a fond theatrical memory.
Kad, who did you like better as Regina? and Birdie?
Butter Broadway said: "I wonder why Brantley didn't review it?"
Honestly - he probably didn't want to have to see it twice with the crazy spring opening schedule.
There is one person who is understudying the roles of Regina and Birdie. Would it make sense to have another u/s for both roles? Just wondering out loud. http://www.playbill.com/personlistpage/person-list?production=00000155-7919-d30d-adff-79bd59570000&type=op#oc
At first I was so surprised to see Brantley didn't review this, especially since it has marquis names and seems right up his alley. But then I remembered, this is the mad dash to Tony cut-off and he would formerly have had Isherwood to help him with getting through them all.
Brantley also would have had to see this twice. I imagine he will also be skipping Bandstand and Doll's Life.
Is this Soloski's first Broadway review? And the first non-Brantley or Isherwood NYT review in how long? Just curious.
Pleased to see Caroline Stefanie Clay get some nice notices as Addie. Of course Linney and Nixon are the main draws, but her work in an underwritten part is excellent.

The critics don't HAVE to see it twice. They were given the option to see it twice if they wanted, but not everyone saw it twice.

No, she reviewed The Price.
Brava to Laura and Cynthia and THE LITTLE FOXES team on all the kudos!
(Pretty sure Brantley is perfecting his HELLO, DOLLY review, too!)

How is the view from the seats in the extreme left orchestra? I'm looking at tickets in row b, but I'm worried these will be obstructed. I don't want another wrong seat choice like Jessica Lange in Long Day's Journey by choosing the wrong side.

So is the performance to see with Linney as Regina and Nixon as Birdie? I don't think I'd go twice so I'd like to see the better one.
