Thoughts on this? I think it's interesting and will certainly be funny, but not necessary.
Oh boy...the political climate has become such a circus over the past year. Suddenly, OF THEE I SING seems more ahead of its time than ever.
I don't think it's meant to be funny, but then again - I don't know the tone of the play. All the descriptions make it sound like it's a serious drama with some added levity from ironic humor, at best. House Of Cards did an excellent job of keeping up with current times, even though they used to shoot their episodes months before they were aired. Most of the times, it still seemed fresh because of how Beau's mind was ahead of news cycles. I personally am looking forward to this, but I wouldn't expect anything more than a random 20 word change here and there.
Uma Thruma. Way to go, BWW.
Great, just what the Narcissist-in-Chief needs -- more attention.

Lackluster talent, grasping at straws to stay relevant. How embarrassing.

Yeah, this is probably literally just going to be one or two incidental conversations or anecdotes that get tweaked.

I think you might end up being surprised at how talented Uma Thurman proves to be. And I wouldn't call Phillipa Soo lackluster, even though she ended up in starring in a very lackluster show in Amelie

I see much irony in that this reads exactly like one of Trump's tweets.
Except it's missing an exclamation mark or two.

Great observation, though it's also missing #SAD

The irony, which I fully expected, has everything to do with the typical, knee jerk reactions we've become accustomed to, and nothing to do with my opinion. I would have written the very same comment, if the person involved were Clinton. My tendency towards being a theatre "purist", and my distaste for the current political climate, are not an indication of support for Trump, unless you want them to be.

I've said before, if you want to see just what a phenomenal actress Uma Thurman is, watch the movie HYSTERICAL BLINDNESS. You'll never question her talent again.

Fair enough. I'll take your suggestion.

The responses to your original comment had nothing to do with politics or the current political climate. It had everything to do your description of the talent as "lackluster", which some of found to be unfair and unsubstantiated. Those responses were hardly typical knee jerk reactions.

I suppose the comment above, is all about Uma Thurman, and my unfair opinion of her talent? Perhaps "knee jerk" was a poor choice of terms to use on my part, but let's be honest, shall we?

My comment about your comment reading like a Trump tweet is about literally nothing else than the fact that your comment reads like a Trump tweet.
Like, literally nothing more than that.

It's "like" purely coincidental. I wrote what came to mind at the moment. Personally, I don't see the resemblance, but there's no point in splitting hairs over it. You obviously pay more attention to what Trump has to say than I do.
