No matter how long I live, I am never going to see a crappier piece of artwork.
I know you.

They didn't rotate the image, this is the original (well, after the requisite photoshopping).
Though I will say jaystarr, the image you have would've been a better pic to use as a source.

I just don't get why, there even needs to be a picture there, THERE doesn't need to be one, I think instead of constintly putting in crappy pictures that you need to squint to figure out who it is anyway, they should put effort into a good logo.

I still can't believe there's a thread on this.
Who cares?
Why is this such a big deal?

I like it- the red dress is a much better choice.

Wrong LuPone.
Mommy, why doesn't the screaming lady in the dress have a shadow?
Vampires don't have shadows.

Just because this is where people can talk about what they want doesn't mean they should.
Five exclamation points? Really?
Five exclamation points? Really?
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

LOL @ theaterkid1015: Mommy, why does the screaming lady in the red dress have no shadow?
-Because all that belting sucks the soul out of you.
-Because actors don't cast shadows, at least not on Broadway.
-Well, sweetie, they had to cut the shadow from the shot because they would have to pay it overtime for all the Photoshopping plus a full week's salary - and it would eat into the money set aside for Chowsie and the Lamb's pensions. Union rules are Union Rules, my little one.
--
And we wonder why Spotco and Serino Coyne never ask us to help them design logos?! (Though I don't doubt the folks at those agencies read & post on BWW too.) The red dress is better than the blue dress because it pops better, I agree... but it's still not very flattering for Ms. LuPone (unless you count your name in lights bigger than your head flattering.)

That new poster is really terrible. I've seen high school flyers that look better than that.

Great photoshopping defyinggravity07!
And just a question, but how much say do the performers have in the artwork for a show, especially if it involves photographs of themself? I could be off base here but I just can't believe that Patti would allow the graphic designers to let her look like that.

Thanks, I really think they have no say in the artwork because they don't really own the picture.

Thats probably true I just always somehow imagined Patti Lupone to be the exception to the rule because of her... diva-liciousness? lol
