If anyone's looking to attend Taylor's first official performance tomorrow night, someone has 12 front-row center orchestra seats on StubHub. They're currently at $199 each, but I don't doubt that they'll go lower.

I was looking at Telecharge and there are 6 front row center mezzanine tickets priced at $199 as well. So interesting. I already have plans tomorrow evening but if I were free I would have bought these seats since they're my favorite seats to see this show.

Yeah, I have a feeling that $199 last-minute seats will open up regularly on weekdays. There are TONS available for this Wednesday night, and a lot on Thursday, as well.

I got row B - at half the cost of face value, by buying two hours before show time. Seeing Taylor.
He was good, different but great. He is not at all trying to do Platt, which is nice. My only compliant was that his Words Fail fell a bit flat for me... but seeing that it was only his second show I don't doubt he will only get better.

Did you see Noah Galvin? We were very disappointed in his version and am wondering whether Mr. Trensch at least does a better job than Mr. Galvin.

You'll probably always end up a bit disappointed if you're spending all your time comparing the performer in front of you to one you saw in the past, as opposed to enjoying what is happening right in front of you?

I said nothing at all to suggest "spending all my time"; I inquired about the performance of one song.
Also, you ended a sentence that wasn't a question with a question mark.
See, anyone can be needlessly bitchy.

hahaha, well played.
And No, I didn't see Noah. And I wasn't comparing Taylor to Ben, they are different - they play it different. My issue was simple - at the key point in the show where you have to go along with how Evan reconciles the lies, i want to feel the "break" so to speak. With Taylor, it felt the same as most of his other spotlight songs. So I felt it was flat. That's it. I actually love Taylor as an actor though, so I'm stoked to see what he'll do with the role once he has his sea legs. I almost didn't want to even say anything considering he could be considered in preview mode when i saw it.

I never had doubt in your ability.

I love the quality of Ben Platt's voice singing Dear Evan Hansen. How does Taylor's singing voice compare? Planning to catch Taylor's performance in May.

Anecdotally, when I was usher in college, we had national tours come through my theater that quite obviously did not have any original Broadway cast members. But every time I would listen to the cast recordings of those shows (which was always after the tour started), I almost never liked the performers on the recordings. Not to be overly general, but the first impression is generally the on that sticks with you as the definitive performance of the role. Rightly or wrongly.

I’m actually looking forward to hearing from people who will be seeing the show for the first time. I care more about how they liked the show than I do about comparing one Evan to another.

I got the tickets in June, before Ben’s announcement of his November final date (August) and implementing the 6 show a weeek schedule (September).
I hadn’t realized they kept the 6 show a week schedule for the main Evan, so we’re seeing Michael Lee Brown, who I am told is excellent.
Anyone see MLB?

going end of feb and mid may and would like to see ticket prices level off

I’m guessing that the first time you might, and I emphasize might, see ticket prices decline somewhat for DEH will be fall of 2018. And I doubt even that’s likely.

My wife and I won the lottery for the matinee performance on 1/20/18 (we sat in the front row!!). Michael Lee Brown is excellent! You'll love it!

Yes I did! He is wonderful, reminds me of Ben a little but really shone and is very talented.

I’ve seen MLB and also Ben before he left I really liked MLB’s take on Evan. He gives a really solid performance so I think you’ll really love him when you see him!

I've seen everyone except Taylor, and MLB is my favorite. I find him the most sympathetic, and he brings something really special to the role.
