I don't comment much but I read these boards often, with mixed emotions. You're a surly group sometimes, but your love and knowledge of theatre is always inspiring.
More or less to my surprise, you have been mostly supportive of our crazy little show. Your comments and feedback were welcomed comfort in the early stages when the limb felt very high off the ground. And in some ways it took sophisticated audiences to truly appreciate the challenges of being original and gutsy. For those we touched, it was worth the effort. For those who will not get the chance to see the show, that will be the deepest regret of all.
I thought the industry would support us. We all did, or at least we hoped it would, but it's nearly impossible to predict how people will received art, so at some point you just have to do it for yourself and throw caution to the wind. We did. Our cast and creatives were unflinching. Our whole team gave their all and believed in the best possible outcome. Whether it was rewarded or not, I think we would all sign up to do it again tomorrow. I know I would.
Thank you for your support, and for supporting courageous theatre in general. These boards can be a hot cauldron, but this is Broadway, and the best is expected. If you haven't been yet, I hope you'll make it before the 5th. If you've formed an opinion without seeing the show, you should give yourself the experience. Love or loathe it, the purpose of theatre is to affect people, and we sure did that.
On behalf of Patrick Bateman and the rest of the Psychos, have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your passion.

And thank YOU and the whole team for creating the most original and visually stunning show to hit broadway in years. I've seen it multiple times and if rent wasn't due next week, I'd go back again before it closes. You guys should be so proud of this show and everything it accomplished.

I second Jordan's sentiment. Easily my favorite new musical of the season. I will be there closing night.

My biggest regret is that since I first saw the show, I wanted to be able to go back and sit as close and center as possible and just be completely immersed in that staging. I'm genuinely sad that I'll never get that chance.

Thanks, whoever you are! I had mixed feelings about the piece but have seen it twice because it is always exciting to see something so extreme and so ITSELF in such a high-stakes arena. And I am catching it one last time today! I'm sure these final performances will be very special, with energetic and dedicated audiences.

Thank you for bringing such an exciting and thrilling show to Broadway. I'm heartbroken by its closing, but I know in my heart that this was the best new musical of the season. The best. I only hope for regional productions to carry on the life of the show and a cast recording. Thank YOU, from BroadwayWorld.

I think this is one of the producers, Seth Greenleaf.

Wow! Thank you. Thank you for making GREAT theatre. It was one of the best shows of the season. It is funny, cutting, relevant and strangely beautiful. It is so much better than Waitress or Bright Star. Both of them good enough (with amazing leading ladies) but not on the level of what you all did. Stellar cast and company. Extraordinary design and choreography. Such smart direction. I don't know why this didn't get the Broadway love it deserved. This happens in the arts and we all know it but it still sucks.....
Benjamin Walker not only deserved a Tony nomination but should have been a contender for a win. His performance of "This is not an exit" so powerful and right into the marrow. You are a great piece of theatre history. Amazing job. Thank you so much.

Ah. Thanks, Jorge. I was looking up just "Seth Leaf"!
Respect to any producers who bring us something this original. And thanks, too, for the lovely Fiddler revival.

It was a kinetic, edgy, darkly funny and thoroughly enjoyable show that I hope to be able to revisit before its untimely closing. I'm not your target demo, but it was my favorite new Bway musical of the year. Thank you for the experience.

In my opinion this was a modern masterpiece, it was the jolt that was needed in the theatre and it's heartbreaking it had to close. Everybody on this show should be very proud and I would not be surprised if we see this show Off Broadway one day. Never has a show gotten me so excited and that's coming from a writer/director here in the UK who prides himself on taking big risks. Thank you.

Truly one of the most innovative and thrilling nights in the theatre I've ever had. I have a feeling we will be talking about this show for years to come and discussing its influence on shows to come.

If this is Seth Greenleaf, he also is responsible for Disgraced (loved), Lady Day (loved) and the Cherry Jones Glass Menagerie (LOVED!!!).
I liked American Psycho the first time I saw it with some reservations. On second viewing I really fell for it and will be at the final performance. If I could I would cram a fourth time in there this week.
Thanks not just for bringing Psycho to New York, but almost all the wonderful productions you've put money in over the years. (China Doll...well nobody bats 1000
) Look forward to seeing what you take a chance on next season. We need more producers like you out there.

I really enjoyed it so much, thanks for creating it. I was planning on going back the week after the closing show, unfortunately that isn't gonna happen now. ![]()

Stylish. Edgy. Provocative. Mesmerizing.
This show captured the essence of the 80s in so many effective ways. From the superficial, often times vapid dialogue and behavior of its characters, to the upbeat, high octane score that surrounded them, it was simply captivating.
And the tech and lighting! Just wow.
For me, this was one of those shows that pulled you in from the moment you entered the theater. And it didn't let go until the final bows.
Yes, the subject matter is quite different from standard Broadway fare. But I felt the way it was executed was simply fantastic. And I actually took a weekender from LA to see it (along with two others) since I missed it over spring break. Glad I did.
I have the window card hanging in the family room next to a plethora of classics from the golden ages of Broadway, and at my last party it garnered numerous comments. Yes, some were surprised they made a musical "of that." But they were also intrigued and wanted to know more. When I pulled out my iPhone and showed them a clip from the show (the preview from the website), they were like, 'Wow, I need to see that.'
Of course we're all 60s babies who were coming of professional age in the 80s and, while being Lost Angelenos were more Less Than Zero than American Psycho, could relate to the lifestyle that existed behind the macabre storyline.
Was really hoping this one would stick around longer because even being a fan of the classics that I am, there is room for shows like this too. Good luck to the cast and crew of this show as they go forward into future endeavors. They were part of something that will always provide a provocative and thought-provoking theatrical memory for me.

More than anything thank you for taking a chance and allowing this bracingly original piece of theater to have existed.

Some shows are just too ahead of their time or they are just so special they don't fit as neatly into what's considered "the norm" for a musical. AMERICAN PSYCHO is one of those shows. It boasts a great score, an immensely talented cast and brilliant staging.
It was easily one of the best and most satisfying theater experiences.
I'm really sad to see it go and I hope it gets re-discovered and re-mounted for years to come.
Thank you!

I'm very upset that I won't get a chance to fly up and see this. I had hoped I could arrange a trip before closing, but it just didn't work out. Thanks for being part of something new and exciting on Broadway, wish you guys the best!

Thank YOU for taking the risk to bring this show to Broadway. I saw it in previews and absolutely loved it, and I'm quite sad it hasn't found the audience it so richly deserves. I hope you and the whole company knows that this show is so appreciated, and I applaud everyone involved for putting their heart and soul into the show and making exciting, risky, dangerous theater. My best to all of you.

Following Adam Guettel's recent appearance, once again it's good to see that the industry and the board can get along very nicely without any vitriol. (Save that for Chez Bateman)

I am truly so sad that I'm not going to see this production. I had a ticket for later in June and can't make it any earlier.
I know it was edgy and possibly not to the liking of some but I still thought it would find its place and would garner good critique and award nominations.
Best of luck to all who were involved with the show. Thank you for daring to be different!!
