I realy would love for Rosie to host the show again. My second choice is Whoopi.

Whoever hosts, I just want an opening monologue. All the other awards shows have it, and I think the Tonys should too.
Kristin Chenoweth!
She was HILARIOUS as host of the Drama Desks two years ago, and now that she's a name in Hollywood, she would be perfect for the job!
Plus, she can sing -- something that Whoopi didn't have.
I second Elaine Stritch
And though they'd never do it, Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa might make the show much more entertaining.
Kristen Chenoweth(sp?)would be good. I thought it was hilarious whens he said "If I hear one damn cellphone go off I'll make this mother 5 hours long."
Reanimated Ethel Merman. Or if the technology isn't available Mary & Jackie!
Billy Crystal.
Because she has nothing to do with Broadway whatsoever.
Kristin Chenoweth would be amazing.
I'd love to see Kristin Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris co-host the ceremony. They had so much chemistry announcing the Emmy nominations, making fun of themselves, and Harris actually said that he would love to be in a show with her. So why not start with the Tonys?
I agree with WannaBe that she was great at the Drama Desks. I thought she was hilarious.

Kristin Chenoweth was a bit too annoying at the 2006 Drama Desk Awards.
I'll second Rosie or Whoopi.
If they know what is best for them they will hire Whoopi.
I can assure you Rosie will turn people OFF!

Ratings are such crap now for the Tony Awards that big name or not, they're going to be for ****. Having said that, Kristin Chenoweth is definitely a rising name in Hollywood, and I think she'd be a fabulous host. And I don't say that as, "OH MY GOD I LOVE KRISTIN CHENOWETH SO MUCH SHE WAS SO SO GOOD IN WICKED SHE SHOULD HOST THE TONY AWARDS!" I say it because of her charm, charisma, and the fact that she had a damn fantastic year.

... yup, "Bradford Whitley" is still funny. XD
I did find Chenoweth really annoying at the Drama Desk awards, but if they did see fit to pair her with Neil Patrick Harris, I'd cope.

Talented (if overrated and irritating) gal, but a name in Hollywood? Based on what, her scene-stealing gig in the beloved "Bewitched"? Or that classic, "RV"? "Deck the Halls"? Oh, I know! Her star turn as the voice of that freakish-headed monster in "Space Chimps"!
She's yet to be cast in (a) any sizable role, (b) any decent movie, (c) any movie that people actually went to see. Most of America has no idea who she is, she'd be a terrible choice to attract more viewers to the Tonys.

^Actually KC has been making a good name for herself on the small screen with 'The West Wing' and 'Pushing Daisies'.
Bernadette Peters - she hosted before and did a great job.
MiracleElixir, Kristin Chenoweth just received a Primetime Emmy Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on "Pushing Daisies."
