In a statement today from The National Theatre regarding the London production (it won't be reopening at the Apollo, but at the Gielgud in June), the National Theatre also confirmed a Broadway transfer
'It is also confirmed today that the much-anticipated Broadway premiere for The Curious Incident…will open in New York in October this year. Further details will follow shortly.'

Aww, that's awesome. I hope it happens. I look forward to seeing it and to Luke Treadaway being put under an evil spell and falling in love with me.

Growl, sad to say the NYT suggests Luke is unlikely to transfer as the cast will be American.
Other than that, this is a show I've been hoping would transfer for such a long (loved the book when it came out, and loved the brief snippets and clips I've seen from the National when it debuted.) May it be all we've heard and more!

Growl, I too am crushing on Luke Treadway.
Did you know he has a twin brother?

Yes, but I certainly never did untoward things to myself while looking at photos of them from OVER THERE, if that's what you're implying.

The NT Live version, which is fabulous, is getting re-airings this May, if you want to get your Luke fix.
I'm really surprised it's coming to Broadway, but I hate to say it, the roof collapse has giving them insane amount of free publicity, it's smart to capitalize on it!

Posted: 1/8/14 at 11:27amI did not care for the book at all, so I saw this with trepidation in London last spring. I read marvelous things about it and figured it's only 12 pounds, so why not? It was a GREAT show and very dynamic. I can't wait to see it again!

Posted: 1/8/14 at 12:57pmYay! Extra reason to cheer this announcement since we had tickets to the January 4th performance at the Apollo, and were -- dare I say it?-- crushed by the news of the tragedy. Now we can replan a trip to New York to catch the show this fall. Yay!

Posted: 1/8/14 at 12:59pmI, alas, couldn't see it last week as it was closed down due to the roof collapse. I'm excited it's coming here. And don't be surprised if Treadway ends up doing it.

Posted: 1/8/14 at 1:38pmThe NT brought over most of the original cast of One Man, Two Guvnors over, but then again, the original cast has left the show for some time now, so it's a different situation. But you know they probably did or will move heaven and earth to bring in at least Luke with the production. Maybe that's why they waited so long?

When I saw CURIOUS INCIDENT last May, I met Luke Treadaway after the show and got to talk with him for a little bit. I told him that if the show were to ever transfer to the States, the he definitely needs to come with it. His reply was, "Oh! You can guarantee it!"
So unless the National is strict about wanting an all-new American cast or Luke has unforeseen scheduling conflicts, I'd bet money on him coming over with it - at least for 6th months like Bertie Carvel and Lauren Ward did for MATILDA.

New Yorkers you are in for a treat. This is one show that is deserving of, and creative enough to live up to the hype.
Haven't seen it since the end of it's Cottesloe run but have been meaning to ever since. If Luke Treadaway heads to Broadway I may have to book me a ticket.
Sadly I didn't feel anything approaching the same way about American Psycho or The Light Princess..

Posted: 1/9/14 at 9:02pmI was so underwhelmed by this show. It could have been much better. I really don't understand how it swept the Oliviers. But then again, with the Oliviers ignoring BOM, they obviously mean nothing (like all awards!). I hope the Broadway transfer improves it. The Broadway transfer of Matilda definitely worked wonders on it.

And I'm not trying to suggest anyone would do untoward things to themselves whilst watching Luke in TV film Clapham Junction either.
