Hilarious!
And I'm sure it's about the other board, lol.

People might be afraid to comment on this for fear of coming off like one of the five types!
True -- but I thought he didn't make some of them sound nearly as bad as they often are.
He doesn't mention trolls at all. Those seem just as prevalent as any of the types he mentions.
^I know! Those people who post those awesome threads where we can watch great free movies deserved a special mention.
Or those that start threads just to mock OTHER threads. Or posters.
At least he didn't say "Jordan Catalano's" are the worst.
Because I love him and that would have made me sad.
I have been every person on that list.
He didn't mention two that annoy me:
1. The "What show should I see?" threads. Someone usually says I'm going to see X, Y and Z and for the fourth slot I can't decide between Once or Nice Work. Which should I see? Some will answer the question, while many others will say neither- go see ____ instead. Pretty soon they'll have 10 answers for Once, 10 for Nice Work and 20 for 20 other shows. There is usually a thread for every show on Broadway, and most of the major productions Off-Broadway filled with plenty of reviews and comments. No need for people to ask strangers who have no idea what their tastes are what they should go see.
2. The threads about helping someone pick a song for a certain occasion, and I fully admit I'm guilty of sometimes answering these threads. Some of them are so ridiculous and specific in their scenarios it would be near impossible to find a song that fits. "I need a duet between a bass and tenor for my niece's 3rd grade graduation that is mostly comic, but has a hint of melancholy about growing up too fast." The answers are usually equally as stupid- either too esoteric, songs that don't have readily available sheet music, or just plain bad suggestions that don't fit the topic.
I'd add:
1. Commenters who refer to shows and people in acronyms: "I hated CZJ in ALNM, but she'd be perfect for AGTYOOZ!" WTF?
2. Commenters who attend the first preview of a show just so they can call it a disaster and post their wisdom on how it can be "saved."
3. Commenters who don't bother to learn how to embed a working link.
4. Commenters who have nothing to add to a topic thread other than to criticize other commenters.
5. Morgan James
Fortunately Hasa Diga Eebowai fits most of those occasions.
He needs a copy editor "Their biggest offense is in trying to shout down anyone who dares to leaves a negative opinion. Interestingly, their attempt to drown out such critiques is way more negative."
He must be a (6). One who lurks and bemoans a message board in a non-message board.

Wait, COULD Carol Channing do Funny Girl?
#7 People who actually get their feelings hurt by anonymous posters. "That's so hurtful."

What's THAT supposed to mean Billy? I can't believe you'd be so hurtful.

#8. People who don't care if they hurt other people anonymously.
Oh, that list is far too kind.

Ha. I am with you.
Ugh, I can't stand Musto, but his one about the obscure questions did make me laugh, because people really do ask a lot of idioitc questions on this board.
lol say!
I only get moderated when I'm talking to JC.
We weren't even saying anything!

I get the annoyance with the idiotic questions, but where else would you ask the obscure ones?
I get so offended on here, I cry myself to sleep
I think the obscure question problem is that is often seems as if the guilty poster is laying awake nights just to think of something to ask. I seldom get the feeling they actually care. They are just trying to seem involved or thoughtful. (Especially lately.)
Well Hervagesty, I would suggest spending your time elsewhere if that's the case. Nobody's saying you have to come here (in fact most people are saying just the opposite) so instead of crying yourself to sleep you should go curl up on the sofa with a pint (or whatever the hell measurement you have over there) of ice cream (or chilled cream or whatever the hell you call it over there), turn off the laptop (or lappy, or whatever the hell you call it over there), get into bed (or beddy-bye or whatever the hell you call it over there) watch some Benny Hill and go to sleep.
