The Jersey Boys Tour Thread

How has rush been recently?
Rush on Sunday did fill up, although for a 3 day weekend I suspected it to me more busy then it was only because last time I rushed on a Sunday it was a 3 day weekend and the line already at about 13 people when I got there at 10am, the normal time I try to get to the theater. This time there were only 5 people ahead of me, all regulars. More people didn't start coming until 11, I think most of them were tourist. There were also a bunch of people either buying full price tickets for that day or a later date.
Evidently the rumor that the Sherry company is going to be in Sac in September is spreading. A couple who were in the city from Sac were going to buy tickets for Sunday, probably as a spur of the moment thing, but were going to to get full price once the box office opened so they decided to come back after it opened. They pass buy the theater later a few minutes before the box offices opens and mention as they pass the 6 of us infront, "We heard that the show is coming to Sacramento, we're going to wait until then."
mizzairee - You should check out the new cast, I'm actually suprised you haven't yet. I personally think they are up to par with the Sherry cast but they don't try to be carbon copies. They've put their own little touches on the characters they potray. And I think some of the cast members are stronger in some areas then their Sherry counterparts.

Yeah, I'm sure the whole Sacramento thing isn't helping matters with SF tix sales, either. I know a lot of Bay Area people wouldn't necessarily be going up to Sac, but people from Davis-ish areas may not bother to come down now that they know they can just stay up there.

Has anyone here taken new people to the new cast? What did they say (having NOT seen the Sherry cast)?
I brought a friend to see it for the first time last weekend, and he thought Jarrod's singing made the show for him. He enjoyed the show immensely, and is now curious about everything I'm telling him about the Sherry cast and is wondering if he should make a trip to LA soon...
Hope that helps!

Yeah I have a friend who loves going to theater, she sees most of her shows in Sac since we're students at UC Davis. I told her about Jersey Boys and that she should drive to SF to catch the show. She was going to do it over the summer since she was attending the summer secession, then Sac announed their season with the unannounced show. I told her I had no idea what it was, although I did, she did some searching found out it's highly probaby it's Jersey Boys and a few days later tells me she'll just wait until they come up.
Hopefully there are a bunch of impatient people from the area who will drive down to SF to see the show instead of waiting.

Well Broadway Sacramento people really don't want to keep it secret at all (they are afraid that with their 07/08 line up not many new subscribers will sign up without JB), but they have to mum until July 2nd because of the contract. But I didn't sign the contract so I was telling people around me at Community Center when I went to see DRS that JB would be the mystery show.

Posted: 5/30/07 at 2:45amLittle do they know that the Sacramento tickets are going to sell out so fast, I'm going to predict it's going to be really hard to get tickets.
New SF cast#756
Posted: 5/30/07 at 2:54amYeah, the Sac run is only 3 weeks and I don't think there is an option for an extension because the cast has to be in Tempe at the beginning of October. So those tickets will probably be gone they day they go public.

I was just on this web site and they are selling tickets untill Sept 30th. Then it says they have tickets for
San Francisco, CA Saturday, November 17, 2007 2:00PM
San Francisco, CA Saturday, December 29, 2007 8:00PM
San Francisco, CA Sunday, January 27, 2008 2:00PM
What is up with that?

Yeah that's why I put my group sale order in already! And from the past experience, there will be no rush in Sacto
Broadway Sacramento people are not worried about JB ticket sales. They are worried about subscription renewals and getting new subscribers. That's why they say the mystery show seats are guranteed only to the subscribers, but then they cannot announce it until July 2nd, so they are in catch 22. (who would renew/subscriber the season without knowing what the mystery show would be?) I've already got two reminders within three weeks from Broadway Sacramento to renew my subscription.

...there will be no rush in Sacto.
That sucks because I was thinking of going to Sac to see the Sherry cast one more time, and by the time they go to Sac Steve will be with them and I want to see how he fits in.
I would be suspecious of any site that is selling tickets before another extension before they're announced. They do have the fradulent ticket warning on the SHN site, although I would like there to be another extension with the Vegas cast.
New SF cast#761
Posted: 5/30/07 at 12:19pmI would think the Vegas people would be there untill the theatre opened, which would mean they would have a schedule like the one they would have in vegas, but it is one date is Nov, one date in Dec and one date in Jan. weird.

So I know I kind of started it, but let's not make this personal.
Really though, advertising Erich's apartment on here is just disrespectful. He has a great place in mid-Manhattan that's not too expensive, I'm sure he'll get a taker who's not a creepy stalker fan. And if he hasn't already, he can post the ad here himself.

Ok someone is delving into the lives of the cast members a bit too much. Seriously, with the amount you post on their myspaces, it might be interperted as cyberstalking. I have to echo shesamarshmellow sentiments about this, posting something about Erich's apartment is going too far.

As the late Nick Massi, the quartet’s background mainstay, Steve Gouveia played the slightly stupid comic foil, but held the audience’s sympathy as a regular guy who ultimately cared more about happiness than success.
Aha. I was waiting for a critic to say that. I guess Gouveia's portrayal isn't invalid, but his Nick is kind of dim-witted, even when he's supposed to be "some kinda harmony genius."
Nice review overall. Too bad they apparently have some problems with Word-to-HTML conversion.

Posted: 5/31/07 at 2:06amI noticed that Michael Ingersoll is on the list with them! I have heard that he is coming back in July, but was that all that was said? There's no set date yet, right? Sorry everyone if this has already been announced, but I'm so excited he's coming back!
