This does look well done! Does seem like a shot for shot remake, but thats fine. Don't mess with the Lion King id say. Still nothing from Donald Glover or Beyonce though, must really be waiting for the film I guess. Makes sense just to tease. Timon and Pumpa at the end though :)

It is very beautifully animated, but it's a pity that I'm missing so many of the expressive emotions from the original film.
It's very set in its realism which, at least to me, is both a great strength and a weakness.
I suppose time will tell.

Now being older, it feeling more real makes some of the story much more dark. For someone who enjoys good, depressing, but well made art, this intrigues me! Id love a slightly darker tone for this, not sure how that would help with sales however. This movie should do just fine in that department though.

Literally was trying to put words to what I was thinking and feeling, and these are it. Which honestly, I was feeling pretty much nothing at this trailer. Some say the realism makes it darker, but the original is already quite dark when you really dig into it, so it didn't need anything else. After M.P.R. I really have no wish to see any Disney movies, except for a VERY select few ones upcoming, until they can get their actual artistic originality and mojo back. Iger really is wet cardboard.

That's a good way of saying it, I didn't feel too much of anything.
I think it looks lovely and I'm a fan of the character animation, but that's pretty much it. If someone made a mash-up of the two trailers, or if one saw it back to back, there's such a range of emotion missing from this remake. Take for example, when Simba's paw lands in his father's footprint. The remake doesn't give me any indication that Simba is upset, or worried, or anything.
But I don't want to be too negative. I have my fingers crossed for, hopefully, better clips.

Yes, it's admittedly gorgeous. But it still feels like a shot-for-shot, note-for-note retelling of something we already have another animated film and a musical about. I still want to see something to justify its existence, aside from having making up the money that Dumbo lost.

I love it, even if it is a shot for shot movie of the original. I think kids nowadays will appreciate the more realistic graphics of the animals as opposed to the cartoon version. If there are no other surprises, I think it is an instant classic.

I personally don't know what I feel about this. Like DUMBO (Dumbo, sorry I live in Brooklyn) and Jungle Book, the original films were perfect works of art. They have stood the test of time. Do we need this? Personally I much prefer the 2 D cell animation (which it appears, Disney does not produce anymore). I have always found CGI, no matter how well done, to be a bit distant and cold. Dumbo looked like ****! I am also not a fan of Burton's later work.

I love The Lion King and I was a bit underwhelmed by this. Maybe it's because I just saw the musical for the first time last weekend so my expectations were high. I'll still give it a chance in theaters but I'm a bit more excited for the live action Aladdin over this.

to be knit picky, the endless night melody is in the original show, so technically it isnt being used here as 'endless night'
Im still not 100% sure hoe much will be shot for shot. Already in this trailer the dialogue isnt word for word, so who knows.
Personally I am not going to characterize this as a musical though, since there are a whole 4 or 5 songs in the whole thing. So dissapointed that they have cut the stage show songs.
