Does anyone know what Angel is saying (I think it's in Spanish, I'm probably totally wrong) after Today 4 U? It's right after Roger turns Angel and Collins down when they offer to take him to the Life Support Meeting...

Ok, so does ANYONE else find the commentary to be extremely insightful and humorous? Because, so far it has answered ALL the questions I had, like why they cut out Roger finding April dead in the bathtub...
Not to mention I NEVER knew that Adam Pascal was so funny!
And I really REALLY think they should've left Goodbye Love in there, I'm a little disappointed about that after seeing the scene, I find it to be so very powerful.
Also the Alternate Ending, at first I was like "whoa, don't like this" then Angel walked out and took Collins' hand...and I was in tears. I like the original ending, but I really like the alternate ending too...because it does feel very much like they just performed it for us since they start out on that stage and end on it.
I was really disappointed when i saw the deleted scenes. i loved them all! why did he delete them? i haven't listened to the commentary yet, i also love the alternate way more than the original ending.
1. Commentary ROCKS!!! It's quite hilarious and also tells you a lot about the film (plus if you're into filmmaking and acting like I am, a lot of the things Chris talks about and something the things Anthony says are very inightful.)
2. I love the deleted scenes. I understand why they were left out of the film, but I am very glad they are on the DVD. However, I don't care what Chris says, Goodbye Love NEEDED to be in the film. I get the weirdness of Mark and Roger suddenly singing to one another, but I think people would get over it (especially since it was mostly RENTheads who saw it in the first place... but oh well).
3. DOCUMENTARY blew me away. I definitely cried a lot. Kudos to whoever put it together. I had the chills constantly as I watched it (at about one in the morning). There's so much heart in it; I LOVE it!
I have been watching nothing but RENT since Tuesday... fabulousness! I'm so glad it's here!
Measure your life in love, RENTheads, and keep it always in your heart.

When listening to the commentary I became angry at Chris because he kept saying that one of the reasons that the Mark Roger fight was cut is because until that point Mark and Roger never sing to each other they always talk. As I recall Mark and Roger open the Movie singing to each other. "How we gonna pay last years rent." This was very frustrating to hear Chris repeat that this was one of his reasons.
Idinarocks, I totally agree with you. And in case Chris didn't realize, they sing together less than 2 minutes later in "What You Own". Chris Columbus just sounded ignorant and like he was trying to cover himself up without any good reasons, so he just completely bs-ed it all. That's just my opinion though...I would have really liked if it was just Anthony and Adam. I kept getting bored of Columbus' long winded answers that had little to do with anything, and how much it became evident that he did not understand of the stage show.
Also, did anyone think the deleted scene of Benny and Roger in the Life Cafe talking about Mimi was probably one of the stupidest things ever? I loved the movie, and I don't even know why they even included this in the deleted scenes, it was terrible. It seemed out of character and that it was struggling to explain things that did not need to be explained.
"But now the air is filled with confusion. We replace care with illusion."
The documentary blew me away. I actually got very emotional watching it, to the point where my mom was staring at me in concern. Also, it was very nice to see some of the people Anthony mentioned in 'Without You'.
All the deleted scenes that had Benny I think Colombus made the right decision to cut them out, although it was disappointing, because those scenes did makes Benny seem *human*, at least. Also, I think it was very important to show Benny paying for the funeral, and Mimi, Benny, and Mark briefly discussing Mimi going into rehab. I've already ranted enough about Mark and Roger's fight, so I'll leave well enough alone.
The alternate ending was excellent, and very emotional, but I can see how it would be confusing to people not familiar with the play.
And the commentary was excellent, with hilarious and insightful comments from both Anthony and Adam. Colombus also had some interesting things to say, but half of the time he was talking as though he'd never seen the play.

Has anyone else noticed that the mic in Over the Moon does not echo as its supposed to???? --------------
Yeah, and they took the jokes out of it, as well.
Well, now I've seen the deleted scenes, and I felt they were as poor as the rest of the movie. I will say that leaving in "Goodbye Love" would have helped the characters and pacing immensely. They were right to cut "Halloween" though.
