That's awesome. Stew never ceases to amaze me. And I love that someone just got up and went with the music. I tell ya, the day the house just gets up to rock out with him will be an just about the best theatrical experience ever!

Ya know, VERC, sometimes I am amazed when the audience is comprised of what looks like older, Park Avenue, "been to the theater for 60 yrs. types", and they totally embrace the show!.. I wonder if they may be a little hard of hearing, and don't think the show is that loud (sic!?), or if they're just senior hipsters. I think they're just senior hipsters.

Well every time I've walked out of the theatre, most of the people are talking and smiling.. I was actually surprised by the reaction of the older theatre goers..pleasantly surprised, of course.

BenKaye< What does the ad look like? And what's the quote from Stew--honestly, there's hundreds to pick from...maybe the advertising strategies are undergoing changes for the better?

Argh, I always miss the crazy shows.
I'm taking two 60 year olds tomorrow, lord help me.
My vote for quote is "Why don't you want to be around your own people?"

I've seen two of them.
One has a picture of Stew and Chad Goodridge, and it says, in quotes.
"Music is the freight train in which God travels."
-Stew, Act I
The other one, from Friday, has Stew and Daniel Breaker, and says,
"The universe is a toy in the mind of a boy."
-Stew, Act 2

Argh, I don't think those are representative or provocative at all.

WALT, don't fret about the 60 yr olds...(I'm sort of near there, but I still Love my Rock!).
Have a great time! And if ya feel the need to get up and rave during Amsterdam, go for it, I say. Stew's like a tornado, in that he sucks up energy from the audience and flies with it.

What is your quintessential New York meal, and where would you eat it?
A plate of macrobiotic basics: brown rice, tofu, beans, steamed squash, carrots and leafy greens with miso tahini dressing.
Hmm.. YUM!

Great matinee today - my friends (both in their 60s) had a great time, one says she "absolutely loved" it.
Funny, because she was sure it was written to speak to HER generation, and I'm pretty sure it was written to speak to mine. :)

I can do any day, but if we do it on a weekday it has to be after 5:15, because I have a stereotypical 9-5 job up in Lincoln Center. I would prefer a Friday night if possible, but please don't make that a make or break factor in the planning, I am completely open to any day of the week.

GM Sacryotypes, Blaxx I would love to get some t's made. I would gladly help with funding. Just tell me what I must do. I was so happy to wake up to the Boston Globe, Sunday. And the chief theatre critic found the real. She adored SP and PS.

I'm so happy Daniel Breaker got nominated. Well deserved (although I didn't know he'd be considered as leading actor)!
