PASSING STRANGE
the best show i have seen
in years and years
u must go
BenKaye, I went to the show tonight. Such a great crowd for a Tuesday night. Great response from most of the audience. Stew sounded extra good, and Keys alone was worth the ticket. It was off the hizzzzzay.
If there was an extra slot in the featured category, Coleman Domingo would take it. He was really good today. Very funny.
There were a couple of sound effect changes..minor ones. In "Must've Been High," they added echoes to make it sound like you were high.
I love the "contessa" part from Coleman Domingo in "We Just Had Sex." I'm pretty sure that wasn't there before.
Other than all that, it was yet another fantastic show...my fourth, not including the recording session. Holy ****.
oh my. I just watched the medley...
is it just me or is that NOT a good representation of the show?
It's not just you. I expressed the same opinion.
Caroline-Q-or-TBoo, I still want that mp3 of "We Just Had Sex," please!
I am so looking forward to meeting some of you scaryotypes.
VERYC, actually none of the actual show has changed, but from watching it a couple of times a week, I, too, hear more lines, new inflections, musical innuendos,...pure inspiration . I, too am stunned that Colman Domingo did not get a nod, since his Act I and II characters are so brilliant (and different!!)...and believe me when I say that this cast and crew are a beautifully tight knit group, performing 1000% every single night.
Everyone, try and leave a PM for me, so I can arrange the get together, most probably May 25th. I have to work the show that day, so either lunch, or after show 5:30 or so?
P.s. Question: Does anyone think a Tony Award can sometimes be a curse? Ya know, when middle america still thinks a Tony Award winning show HAS to have loads of sequins and flying monkeys?

Caroline-Q-or-TBoo, whassup wit your PM! Updated On: 5/14/08 at 12:44 AM
Hey guys, unfortunately I won't be able to join you on the 25th as I'll already be on a road trip with my sister and on my way back home to CA. Hope you all have a blast though!
I'm trying really hard to convince her to make seeing the show a part of our trip! Hopefully I'll get one more visit in before I leave...

Didn't the flying Monkey show lose it to a bunch of horny, foul-mouthed puppets?
I figured this would be a good thread to ask this question. Please, please help me. It is driving me crazy!!! I've been thinking about leaving my fingerprints on your..WHAT? on your WHAT?? what is she saying?!! help!!
Caroline, are making it to our get together? Your PM is broken?
clever name, I was struggling with that too before! Hahahaha
verynewyorkcurious, you should have heard me singing it the last few weeks. "Ive been thinking about leaving my fingerprints on your...lala". By the way, those are GREAT lyrics
Ooh, can we do a favorite lyrics go-round?
Currently, mine are from Arlington Hill
Hip to hip/shoulder to shoulder
the radio blasts in everyone's ears
Well she sees you there
in the rear view
choking on smoke
and trying to be cool
If you should head for the ceiling
close both your eyes and you'll see everything
suddenly there is a meaning
and Arlington Hill helped him see everything.
Excellent, WALTSPI!! Where are the lyrics posted or do you just have a fantastic memory?
I just listened to the mp3 to get the exact lyrics, but I know most of them from the ones that aren't downloadable yet by memory
I sent you a PM tiny. I'll see what I can do about the 25th.
verynewyorkcurious- I just sent you the song! sorry my PMs are being ghetto, i dunno what's up with them!
Ugh, I can't make it, sorry. living in Texas and all, makes it kinda hard! But have fun fun fun all of you!
I've been listening to Stew's "The Naked Dutch Painter" forever and didn't realize that two of the three songs in The Drug Suite made it into Passing Strange! GLORIOUS!

Favorite lyrics:
Well those LA ladies
In their Mercedes
Locked their doors
If he just sneezed
Now he's like, "Bitch, please...
She gave me her keys."
