Wouldn't feel bad if it's somehow ignored. In fact, the reviews is all the show needed. Everything else is politics - the reviewers didn't have a reason to hate or love the show.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
I took some friends to see the show on Wednesday night, all 3 were pretty hesitant and didnt think they would like it, but they loved it so much they were thanking me over and over for making them come.
I cannot wait to get the cast album, I usually never order off of iTunes as I like to have a physical CD to go with my collection, but I may have to this time as I dont think I can wait until June 30th.
For those who saw the performance on The View, I thought it was pretty awesome. Great advertising and press for the show. The whole studio audience got free tickets to the show, and Whoopi called it "her favorite Broadway musical."
Also, can't wait for May 27th, PS Cast Recording released on ITunes!!!!
They were all on (although I don't know if I saw Eisa Davis) and they did a mix of Amsterdam and Keys. It was really great to hear Whoopi say such great things about the show and I so wish I was part of that audience.
jaystarr: Did you make that color pic of Stew, Rebecca and Daniel you posted on May 1? It's hot. It's eye-grabbing. THAT should be the offical PASSING STRANGE poster. I'm not wild about the one they have now.
Saw it again last week. With all due respect to IN THE HEIGHTS, PASSING STRANGE is head and shoulders above it (and any other new musical this season) it's...scary.
"Hurry up and get into your conga clothes - we've got to do something to save this show!"
I would also keep an eye out on The View website. They post videos from the show and I can only imagine that they would put the performance on there too.
I liked that they did a Amsterdam/Keys medley on The View, but the performance was cut down for time so it sounded kinda awkward at times. They also attempted to replicate the lighting, but it fell short, and did nothing for the performance. It's going to be a much better performance at the Tonys.
It was still awesome seeing them though.

VERYC and (Scaryotypes): I'm absolutely certain that Stew will pull *something* really cool on LIVE TV..that's just the way he performs every night. Me, personally, he should jump into the aud. and shove that mic into their faces, do that that inimitable, cute, rockin' "tiny step boogie" thing (my phrase) , and SING!~
Have you guys watched Chad's backstage video on BWW today? Charming and funny! Anyone entering the contest???
