YoungSally : Thanks. I LOVED that article in NY Mag. Now THAT's entertaining writing with an angle! Of, course Stew brews and caterwauls onstage EVERY night at the Belasco.
Happy to find this thread about my favorite show, saw it tonight for the 7th time, fantastic as always, I notice new things every time and they make small changes constantly too.
Just wanted to mention my own experience with the show and kids. I've brought my 8 & 5 year old daughters to the show several times, and they now say it's their favorite show (and they've seen quite a few shows now). The drug references go over their heads, and the sexual innuendo is not graphic and fairly mild by today's standards. There is a fair amount of language, but mine are New York City kids; they hear these words every day on the subway. The kids love the music and the performances, and we've managed to meet most of the cast at the stage door (including Stew last weekend), and the cast is unbelievably friendly and nice to them.
I'm not suggesting this show is right for every kid, but mine love it, and I'm not worried about them being scarred by the experience.
Wow, really? Kids are soooooo sophisticated these days. Question: Did they have any idea what the Berlin scenes were about, and did they get scared when Mr. Venus appeared?
I think they mostly enjoy the music, and don't understand exactly what's going on in the Berlin scenes, but enjoy the chaos and energy of it, as well as the humor. They aren't scared by Mr Venus (surprisingly), but maybe because his performance is so over the top.
My favorite quote about the show from my 5 year old after "Keys": "Daddy, my chair was vibrating!"
Greg, that is the absolute funniest thing I've heard about the show so far. I think it should be picked up by the marketing team as the new advertising slogan:
hey tiny did you get my email? i know my PMs are a bit effed up.
if not, my email is iruvtart@hotmail.com and YOU are a baller!
thanks so much!
I'M TRYING TO SEE THE SHOW AGAIN THIS SUMMER! WOO!

Yes I did, Caroline. I can't send anything until I figure out a way to do it.( BTW. what does that mean "you are a baller??)

Got your PM's but your msgs didn't allow responses. In answer to your Q's, I'm tech illiterate and do not have a DVD burner, so I'm going to have to ask someone how to do this. Will let you know, but it may take some time
I think you should be able to send it as an attachment. The part I accidentally recorded is a file on my hard drive at home. I'll PM you my email address....you will get a request from the filter, but just ignore it...it will go into a different folder where I can retrieve it.
Hi Sally- Tried to email the attachment but it did not transmit, with a msg that stated there was not enough memory (yellow triangle). The file is 141 MB. Sorry.
You guys- the recording is GREAT! ITs not over produced- its really raw sounding. Slightly flawed in some of the mixing levels- but its real rock and roll. You're gonna love it!
My only regret is that its not the entire show. I'm surprised this show of all shows didnt do a two disc live recording of the show- especially when so much of it is the music.
Sally- The live webcast had a warning on it that stated that public transmission was not possible. Anyway, I'm going to try and get someone in here to hook up an external DVD burner to my PC, so I can try and burn some discs. I don't want to get involved in any legal problems with YouTube, etc. Also, I am NOT tech proficient in how to "share" these videos.

Update on the T-Shirts: Stew's asst. is working on this...as you can imagine, the cast and crew are up to their ears in both performance and then, press stuff. However, my secret source says it IS being worked on. So, sometime in the near future.....be patient. thanks.
so I was in Claremont California in march (looking at colleges, BAH) and I stumbled upon an LA Arts newspaper and was flipping through it only to find STEW AND HEIDI!! It was so exciting and the interview was actually really interesting- it was about being "LA artists" on broadway. Anyway, fun tidbit since we're on the subject of Stew and Heidi in newspapers.
ANYWHO- who else adoressss the "Keys" clip up on the sh-k-boom website. it's rockin!
have fun at the meetup and fill us all in!
