Heidi Rodewald really is awesome. When I saw the show a while ago I was talking to her about both of us being from Orange County, CA. She was really sweet.
On another note. Guess what video was finally uploaded on you know what site... Just search "Passing Strange" and it's toward the bottom of the first page. Almost ten minutes of total rocking out... Gotta love Keys (It's Alright)!!!
And it really is an amazing performance. I mentioned it to Rebecca Jones back when I saw the show and she said they had so much fun being Downtown again.
Yeah, Benky, it's too bad though, that the video poster cut it off a bit too soon, because the audience was sooooo wild, the next presenter had to wait a good, long while in order to even get a word out....there was "hooting" all over the place, and everybody was CARAAAZZZZY!!

Good point. Stew is getting all the ink. Heidi is not getting her due. And that is passing strange.

The Scaryotypes, specifically Tinymagic and J*, are mentioned in the new BWW FLIPS video, as some people backstage of PS discuss us, and such. Woo-hoo.
Ben, the guy discussing us is Stew's understudy, Mr. David Ryan Smith...luv you too...are you EVER going to go on? Stew's the healthiest guy alive!! Updated On: 6/9/08 at 12:18 AM
I'm gonna come out of the closet on this board and admit I'm a 'scaryotype'. I've seen the show 12 times and am madly in love with it. I was also at the live recording and the listening party and they were both a lot of fun. It's one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen and I'm so happy for the recognition it's gotten since it was off-broadway.

As you already probably know... I went to see IN THE HEIGHTS this weekend for my 10/10 Report Season Finale....I said something good about the show to the cast and congratulate them.. one of the main cast replied to me..(jokingly) Are your sure you did not see PASSING STRANGE?!!! I was suprised when he said that!
BTW- All the cast members came out and gladly took photos with me..i kinda feel weird bec. they all probably "knew" who I am rooting for BEST MUSICAL! lol! (yeah.. they read BWW to! )
I am humbled that they did mentioned our name.. thanks for the cast of PASSING STRANGE! BEST MUSICAL EVER!!!
Hey Scaryotypes, Posted in another thread by sh-k-kate. States "Work The Wound", is USA TODAYS Pick-of-the-Week song, from Passing Strange. Please check it out way-cool. I've never thought a Broadway show would get pick of the week.
I'm new to this site and my question has probably been answered, so I apologize if I'm wasting time and space. That being said,
I know the cast recording of Passing Strange is now avaiable on Itunes or whatever it's called. Is it going to be available on CD in the foreseeable future? I've gone through the transtion of 78s to LPs to CDs and I really dread having to start all over again (I'm computer-challenged). If only on Itunes, I'll go through the torture of learning a new system and get the recording that way, but I hope and pray that it will be available on CD. I really enjoyed the show and the music. (The same thing happened when CDs started crowding out LPs. I'd sworn that I'd stick to LPs until such time as a show was available ONLY on CD -- and Black and Blue made me go through the whole arduous transition.) I'm just getting too old to keep rebuying my entire collection. Thank you.
