Do you guys think that any of the female role will be nominated for Tony's? The catagory is very crowded this time around...
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!"
-Kermit the frog"I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P."Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu""...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu
After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
Yeah I just hope that this show sweeps the Tonys lol. I haven't even seen it yet and I already feel like singing it's praises!

I think Olga will definitely be nominated for featured.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
Ahh I wish, but you're probably right. If her role was a bit larger, she might have a better shot.

I have it on very good authority that sometime during this week, or possibly the next, they're going to change the song "Sunrise". The portion that opens that song, in which Nina is teaching Benny to speak Spanish, is a Puerto Rican lullaby, written by a schoolteacher in Vega Alta:
pollito, chicken gallina, hen, lápiz, pencil y pluma, pen
etc.
Apparently, there have been some copyright related issues that were not resolved, so they're going to have to drop that from the show.It was still in the show on Tuesday.
This breaks my heart, because when I heard this song, which I used to sing as a little girl, I literally squealed with delight.
Last I heard, negotiations had fallen through, but I'm still hoping they find a way to keep it in the show. If anyone sees the show before Saturday, please let us know if that portion's still in, or if it was cut. I was hoping my parents would get to hear it.
Yeah, it struck me as odd, too, since the show was already opened. I have no reason to doubt my source, though, so it's legit. I have no idea what they did with the recording for the cd. I'll try to get some more info.
