I've worked with her in shows before. She does a lot of work at a regional theatre in Miami, Actors Playhouse, where I've done most of my shows!
Love her!
Just got back from the show-- amazing !!! Best crowd so far. One of the loudest that I have ever heard at the end of a show. Lin-Manual gave the BCEFA speech tonight, and had to wait a bit before speaking because the crowd was still cheering !
The song lyrics during "Sunrise" were not changed yet.
I did notice that Lin showed MUCH more emotion tonight right before "Alabanza"- His voice was breaking up, and you could see his eyes tearing. It really worked.
I asked about the souvenier program, and was told its definitely in the works, but most likely would be another 6-8 weeks.
BEST NEW MUSICAL OF THE SEASON! We were blown away...just as the rest of audience was.
I've noticed that standing ovations are getting "less common" than they've been of late. (As they should be! In fact, they should be RARE.) Of the four shows I saw this past weekend, ITH was the ONLY one to get an SO...and it happened immediately, spontaneously and enthusiastically from wall to wall!
Love it! Love it! Love it!
So I saw the show for the first time tonight.
It was incredible.
The music was catchy when it should have been, narrative when it should have been, and touching when it needed to be.
I agree that the book still needs work, but that really did not matter for me.
I was blown away. The show won't change your life, but it really reminds what you what musical theatre is and what makes it so darn fun.
Bravo to the entire cast, they were spectacular. (Especially Lin-Manuel, Eliseo Roman, and Robin de Jesus.)
More love !!! Thank you, Miss P. !! Lin even got some entrance applause tonight, so he is definitely being noticed (I am sure his great reviews haven't hurt !!)
The applause was really something tonight--- as soon as the cast was finishing saying ...."home", you could hear it starting !!!

I just hope that they perform the majority of "96,000" on the TONYS this year.
Would love for them to do "96,000", but my gut is telling me "In The Heights" - either way, I will be happy !
Are they still selling a polaroid pic with Lin-Manuel for BC/EFA ? I thought that was really cute.
And I would LOVE for them to do 96,000, but En Washington Heights probably makes more sense. I just hope they don't go with a medley. God, I hate medleys.
Lin got entrance applause when we saw it on Friday night, too. I have not been an audience that revved for a VERY long time!
Tonight they were selling signed posters - very cool !
And totally agree... please, no medley !!!
Aaw, cool. Last time I saw it, Lin-Manuel was in the lobby, selling pics for $20 (he also autographed them). It was really cute. He was hollering "Broadway composer over here! Get your pic with a Broadway composer! When are you ever gonna meet another Broadway composer?"
And also, it was a pretty tepid audience, but people still cheered loudly, and the cast got an immediate standing ovation. I see a lot of theatre, and that's pretty rare for a show with mostly unknowns. It's really cool the way the show just...energizes everyone in the audience.
Oh, forgot to mention--- VERY cool new pics posted outside the theatre.. (must have been very recent, because the castmembers were checking them out today) A great shot of Abuela and Usnavi sitting on the stoop is posted right near the door furthest right when you are going inside for will call or ticket purchase... and they put a great poster up on the stage door !!
Has anyone tried the lottery for a Wednesday matinee? I'm hoping that it will be less crowded than on the weekend (especially since it seems that by the time I go on Spring break in a few weeks, everyone else will be back at school already).
Lottery was not that packed last night. MAYBE 30-35 people.

I'm with you on those crushes. Talent and cuteness. Still waiting for the OBCR.
I know right?! lol And I'm with you about the cast album. I listen to the songs from the myspace page everyday and cannot wait to have the whole thing on my ipod!
