Saw the marquee being put up this morning and came back to take a finished picture.

Posted: 6/15/12 at 2:32pmShame I have to clean the kitchen and walk the dog during each of those 32 performances.

Posted: 6/15/12 at 2:34pmI'm sure it'll sell out the Hirschfeld. If all the people who are planning to see it over the course of its run go on one day.

Posted: 6/15/12 at 2:48pmIt's going to sell worse than the Hair tour...and Hair is a fun and entertaining show...

Posted: 6/15/12 at 2:51pmWhat was the reason for this coming back even if for just 32 performances?

Posted: 6/15/12 at 3:13pmI'd rather watch this year's Tony telecast on loop then this.

I'm not sure about other stops along the tour, but when FELA! was in Houston, it had a 7 show run at Jones Hall (which seats 290
and it sold out every performance! So, it may sell well in NYC too. The cast is fantastic, and is a mic of OBC and OLC, with Shah Ngauja reprising his role as Fela Kuti, which he did originate in both the off-Broadway and Broadway runs of the show.

Posted: 6/15/12 at 3:55pmIt may be doing well on tour, I don't know, but it's not like it was in NYC that long ago...it was here in 2010 and I would imagine that people who didn't go see it 2 years ago are not going to be rushing to see it now.

Posted: 6/15/12 at 3:59pmWell, on the plus side, the Hirschfeld will be saving a fortune in electricity with the small number of bulbs needed to spell "Fela!" (at least compared with the days they had to spell "Larroquette" in bulbs!)
