You know it makes me so mad I think they should close WICKED now to keep it from being a target for further nastiness. Close it to prove that it is so great that it will not tolerate ANY teasing. CLOSE WICKED TO SAVE IT'S FACE!
PEACE.

Guys guys guys! You have to understand, the people who are ridiculously obsessed with a so- so musical like Wicked are more that attached to many of the poorly written lyrics. That spoof is hilarious! My favorite is her bitter wheelchair sister! LOL! Calm down all that are upset, Wicked is good but not the end all be all of musicals. LIGHTEN UP

This part really kind of angers me though:
IDINA MENZEL
Hi, I'm Idina Menzel, the wicked witch, and my character is
going to be an utterly uninteresting loser for the rest of
Act One.
It's a good thing I have a hell a voice because the songs
I'll be singing for you sound like they came out of Stephen
Schwartz's ass while he had the runs.
Sorry for the hideous spacing
edit:what happened to the hideous spacing.....yay

I found the part where Kristen tells Boq to suck an egg to be pretty dang funny.

Eh, it's kind of lame actually.

I totally agree....it is very lame.
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

I actually just laughed out loud so hard -
ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR
Crap, they can hear the terrible lyrics! Play louder, play louder!
This the funniest thing I've read.
STEPHEN SCHWARTZ
This gives me more time to sign my royalty checks for regional Pippin productions!
So true!

Parody if often a form of flattery. It's funny because parts of it are indeed true, and I love Wicked a lot. It's good to just step back and laugh now and then. I would hate to see some of you guys at Forbidden Broadway.

I thought it was hilarious, too! I found that site about a year ago and read a couple of them (including the one for the Fiddler revival, which was just great) and have been trying to find it again for a while. Thanks for the link - I'll have to bookmark it now!

Best line:
BOQ, THE TALLER-THAN-KRISTIN CHENOWETH MUNCHKIN
Kristin, you're so beautiful. How about *I* marry you. Our kids will be seven feet tall.

I don't find anything of those scripts on there funny. They are so stupid. Who would waste their time doing this? Yes, I love humor, but what is on that site is just NOT funny.

How could you not John? I mean the kid has musical talents...AND a boyfriend! If you people aren't humbled by that then the world is truely doomed.

Don't fortget he's also 'pretty smart.'
Would a dumb person say THAT? I think not.

The 'pretty smart' part is the cherry on top.
...I'm only occasionally smart. Do you think morebroadwayplease would be willing to teach a class? Boy I sure need them smarts!

SUTTON FOSTER
Nobody's going to tell me what to do! I am going to move to
New York! I am going to be ASTONISHING!
(sings)
It's ASTONISHING to try, ASTONISHING gravity,
I think I'll ASTONISHING, defying ASTONISHING,
And nobody in all of... er... CONCORD,
No Wiza--.... SOMETHING that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me... ASTONISHING!

No offence to the people who don't like it, but I love this line:
BOTH OF THE AUDIENCE MEMBERS WHO READ THE NOVEL:
"The dragon is moving! What an excellent representation of the fantastic ideas conjured up from the original source material!"
AUDIENCE MEMBERS WHO DIDN'T READ THE NOVEL:
"Uh...so, what's up with that dragon?"
This one's funny too:
A GUY THAT LOOKS LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN A HOMELESS MAN AND AN OOMPA-LOOMPA
"Wanna buy some Foakleys?"

It's not funny. Idina's character was completely uninteresting for a REASON. And that reason is because Kristin Chenotherapy is totally adorable and funny and so they HAD to make Idina uninteresting. They had to, they didn't want to and that is what is so sad about mocking it.

morebroadwayplease and everyone else offended by this--
It's not like people are insulting your mom. It's a musical. I really enjoyed Wicked when I saw it, but it's still a musical that does have some problems. Get over it.
I thought this was hysterical! The Six-Foot Tall Munchkin was great and I loved Joe Mantello's appearance. I truly don't think that could've been any funnier! And, yes, Joel Grey is pretty adorable. And, yes, it is a poorly written role for such an amazing performer.

The other thing is, he treats ALL shows that way; it's not just wicked that he makes fun of but EVERY SHOW. It's most definetely not to be taken personally; it was written for entertainment value. Oy.
