On a lark my wife,asked me to check The Music Man for her birthday 3/27/22
Hold on to your hats. Prices quoted are as crazy as seeing Hamilton on TDF in reverse. For center Orchestra $2300. Makes Hamilton look like a bargain. How many are you getting?

Telecharge isn't currently selling Music Man tix (just doing exchanges for people who already have tickets). So you must be looking at a resale site

Roxy, they are not even selling tickets to The Music Man currently, so obviously you were on some weird website. They will go on sale at some point, and yes, the majority of the seats are $400+, but they aren't even close to what you are quoting.

Chicago seems to be eschewing weekday performances. Aside from the initial reopening performance on Tuesday, 9/14, their schedule is Friday nights and two shows on Saturday and Sunday. That schedule holds into early February 2022 aside from Thanksgiving week and the weeks around Christmas and New Year's.
I'd be curious if that 5 performance week schedule was collectively bargained. I'd also imagine they may add weekday shows if the Friday-Sunday performances do very well.
Ain't Too Proud looks to be on a normal 8 performance schedule. Same with Diana and Jagged Little Pill. We'll find out about Phantom tomorrow I guess. Six seems to be on a 6 performance week schedule.
Anecdotally, it looks like American Utopia is doing 6 shows a week, but that seemed to be the standard during the show's initial run.

I doubt it highly. I think it is about trying to get the demand (if there is any) higher. That's a lesson I think some other producers are going to learn the hard way.

Posted: 5/7/21 at 12:31amThat is the next step. Scheduling and going to the unions and look for " adaptability" at the very least. Chicago, for example, is not going to want to pay 8 shows a week to the crew if they're only doing 5 shows. Nothing has been negotiated about those types of things yet.

Has anyone heard anything about the box offices reopening? I know there's a lot of talk about contactless/mobile ticketing, but is that a definite for all shows as the only way to purchase tickets? If they do that, we can no longer purchase tickets without the exorbitant fees at the box office... I know not for everyone, but for me that will likely end up affecting how many shows I can see in a year. By themselves, the fees are not even close to as much as a ticket, but when you add them all up...

Actually, the "dying" process begins around age 25. That's when cells begin to decay without being replaced.

They won't open for a while. Despite the governor relaxing rules, and the CDC's more recent recommendations, the unions are still going to demand safety concerns be addressed. I wouldn't expect any box office to open until at least mid-August.
