I have two specific firefighters in mind from the 8th Ave firehouse who like to wear their blue shorts in warm weather, one of whom I shall presume went rogue with the info. I salute his roguery.

That's actually on 46th between 8th and 9th, not quite from the Lunt, but nice try.

I miss when high school students couldn't wait to grow up and wanted to be treated like adults. From the Times coverage on students stuck in Times Square restaurants:
::Priscilla Garner, 17, said she enjoyed the experience. “I got free ice cream, they gave us crayons to color with,” she said.::

I saw Everyday Rapture tonight and had no idea this happened until I got home! My goodness, that's mightily scary!
(But the show was fantastic!)

I left Defending the Caveman about 6:45, went to TKTS bought tickets to American Idiot, walked down to go to 44th street, saw the Fire Department putting out the fire on 45th, cops were gathering and started to close off the streets. Also saw that they lifted the manhole covers, I thought maybe the fire may have been underground.
American Idiot started about 10 minutes late, when they let out, they made us go to 8th Ave, I asked if the subways were effected the cops said no. Went to times square subway station via passage way on 8th and 43rd.
Did not know what was going on until I go home.

Everyday Rapture also started about ten minutes late, but I didn't think anything of it. Since the theatre is on 42nd Street, they did not mention any kind of special evacuation.

TaylorPhenomenon, Thanks. Just noticed that. I just saw that the description said Lunt-Fontanne and posted it here. Didn't realize till I finished the vid and you replied that the location was wrong.

I work in Times Square and was just let out of the building. This looks like a mad house.

Come Fly Away started at about 8:30 tonight but the cast and a lot of the musicians had to come through the main entrance of the theatre because the SD was blocked. Most shows in the immediately affected area probably started late (i.e. Lion King at 9pm)

Just got home and looking on the web (because apparently it's already old news on TV), someone reminded us that the bomb scare was in front of the MTV building, which owns Comedy Central.
Coincidence?

I was there this afternoon, we had lunch at Juniors and saw La Cage(which I loved)then we tried to get tickets to American Idiot at TKTS but decided not to take them, then went to Starbucks at the Mariott like around 6ish, it was crazy on 44th street there were buses being loaded and unloaded right there then we headed for the train, so we missed the bedlam by 15 minutes thank goodness we didn't stay

Maybe I'm just really out of it, but I don't get the connection with Comedy Central. Can someone explain?

Comedy Central got threatened by Muslim extremists because South Park made an episode about Muhammad.

What sticks in my craw is the off detail that the suspects who abandoned the SUV "left the flashers on."
Seems to me trained terrorists would make the soon-to-explode object as IN-conspicuous as possible.
Leaving the flashers on is oddly exhibitionistic.
Something's not adding up here.

It could be, but part of me thinks it's a coincidence.

Anyone else a little annoyed the only coverage is on MSNBC or FOX News? I didn't know until about 30 minutes ago something happened. And what's up with NY1 and CNN barely mentioning it?

Which theater was it nearest to? The Lion King? The Addams Family?

The episode wasn't even about Muhammad; he had a freakin' cameo and they're still freaking out.
