I’d love to see Andrew Scott on Broadway in Vanya in the spring but I see that tickets are over $400! Could that be possible?

All the cheap ones got snagged during presale. The cheapest were $99.

Thanks for the reply! Wow so no chance for me to get to see this. Disappointed!

Watch out for an extension and buy tickets when those go on sale.

Over $400? How obnoxious. Seriously.

Various Broadway producers hiding in sheep’s clothing will soon be weighing in to tell us that ticket prices can and should be as high as the market will bear and all of us peasants who can’t afford $400 a ticket should just sit outside the theatre and play in the dirt instead.

I know, so ridiculous. I mean, $200 for a ticket would be high but not terribly criminal. But $464? So basically $500 for one ticket. Insanity.

Careful, you’re about to attract a flood of vultures who will tell you that you should love and cherish the rising prices of tickets or get over it.

Yup. Lortel. Thanks for the reminder. That makes this even worse.

Oh it’s not even on Broadway! You’re right, it’s at the Lucille Lortel. That makes it even worse. Wow.

Trust me. I know the pattern on here. But thanks.

FYI, top price on the Lortel's website is $354 total, and there are plenty of seats for much less than that throughout the run, so not sure where the "over $400" is coming from. I get it, it's still expensive, but it always annoys me when people use inflated prices from who knows where as their basis for complaining.

I see $422 on the Lortel site now. Earlier today and yesterday I saw $454. Strange!

Wait, correction! I was looking at VanyaonBroadway.com. Still, the Lortel prices are way over $200. But thanks for pointing that out!

Someone accused that account of being AI and now I'm parsing every word they (it?) post(s).

It's vanyaonstage.com, and that pricing is pretty wild. The site is powered by TodayTix, but if you buy through TodayTix directly, they're $369 ($354 + $15 in fees), not $422. The official website adds $68 in fees to the standard no-fee Lortel price of $354. What a racket.

It is extremely rare that someone, particularly someone new to the board, replies to every single post in a thread they started. That pattern does seem very much like a bot in a conversation.
