Sorry for the repeat thread, but can't seem to find the other one. Any more news on the recording? I'm taking it since we haven't heard anything new, there isn't going to be one.

Huh? They're not even going to bother? Even with having Sherie in the cast?
Yep, unfortunately Sh-K-Boom doesn't have plans. But pre-orders are still being taken online. It's all very odd.

Does Sherie just hate this show that much?

I wonder if Sherie simply doesn't care to have this preserved? I would assume that should she want it to be, it could be.
They want it preserved. It's the $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Yazbak cannot get a break
2 Tony worthy scores gets him nothing. Now what many feel is the best part of the show & it'll never be heard .

So would this be the first Sherie show not to be recorded?

It's more about making a profit. Sh-K-Boom isn't non-profit. They need to make money.

And they thought recording Everyday Rapture was going to make them money...?
A cast recording with a 3 person cast and a tiny band surely costs a lot less than a full scale musical with a decent sized cast and orchestra.

True, but with Patti et al on the recording, I'm sure they will also sell more of the recording, despite the reviews. I'm sure that even though Rapture cost almost nothing to produce, they weren't planning on making anything from it, either.
If they are taking MONEY for pre-orders, I find it unlikely they aren't PLANNING to record. (Isn't that illegal?)
However, it's not just about the cost of recording (which is huge) but also whether they are just throwing that money away. If they don't think they will sell ENOUGH cds to at least COVER the cost, yet alone make a profit, they aren't going to throw MORE money away.
Hey, I don't know the specifics. I just know Sh-K-Boom doesn't have current plans to record it. And it's mainly because of $$$$$$$.
I would assume they would just refund the money??

Whatever the reason, I think it's a shame. I think many of the songs were very good.
Where can you order the recording? (Although it looks like it won't happen) At the theatre? I think it's a shame, too. I liked many of the songs, and would have loved to have had it.
