Can someone provide a breakdown of what’s said? Not everyone deals with TikTok and I’m unable to watch the video in browser without it sending me to the App Store.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

...was Lea Salonga attached to WHOLESALE at one point? She doesn't feel like a right fit for those roles but she cited a John Weidman-Santino Fontana-Judy Kuhn project.

The video is about shows people did workshops of & never made it to Broadway, or shows people wanted to do:

  • Idina Menzel: did readings of a MOONSTRUCK musical
  • Lin-Manuel Miranda: did a one-day reading of a Mike Nichols/John Patrick Shanley play with Don Cheadle & Michael Shannon and was thrilled to work with Nichols on it.
  • Lea Salonga: was supposed to do a reading of a John Weidman/Santino Fontana/Judy Kuhn show but got Covid
  • Betty Buckley: Wanted to do ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, specifically an arena production
  • Andrea McArdle: Was supposed to play Nancy in OLIVER! for the New York transfer of the Cameron Mackintosh/Jonathan Pryce production in the 90s. Never came to New York.
  • Bebe Neuwirth: workshopped 13 DAYS TO BROADWAY (FORMERLY 10), a Cy Coleman show about a show dying out of town. Also an Alan Menken musical called KICKS.

Thanks for taking the time to summarize that!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I know they've got a whole new smaller take over there now, and I know the last New York revival was a flop, and I know it's simply too big to produce today, but it's still insane to me that the Sam Mendes Oliver! never came to New York. It's an incredible production, hugely crowd-pleasing.

Everyone keeps talking about Kicks here and there, and how wonderful it was. I would love to hear the score. The only thing I know is Karen Ziemba did  "I Want to Be a Rockette" on the PBS Leading Ladies concert.

I've never much cared about the rumored Moonstruck musical but Idina describing it as operatic and Italian means I need to hear that score yesterday.

For years I've wanted Jewison's flawed but still lovable Only You as a musical and I also imagined that as very operatic and Italian.

LMM doing John Patrick Shanley with Don Cheadle and Michael Shannon under the direction of Mike Nichols is the most curious conflagoration...

I MUST KNOW MORE!!!
