Yeah, I got an invite after I told them I was willing to put together a goat professor costume. It looks like the check in for that is between 2:50pm though 3:20pm, with the actual taping occurring between 4:00pm-5:30pm.

I was also planning at arriving around 2:45. I was looking on instagram and seeing people in Costume are already at the Marquis, but maybe that's because they're in the standing-room orchestra.

It surprises me because that video was 12 years ago and her performance in Hairspray only served as evidence that she doesn't plan to sing outside her scoopy Idol Xerox-pop LA studio style.  If she performs more Broadway-legit for the concert, it could be a pleasant surprise, but so far, these casting announcements only generate more apathy in me.  Even the idea that anything deserves a "15th Anniversary" concert seems oddly forced.  It's not like 15 is generally considered a celebratory milestone.  It reminds of the hoopla over the 5th Anniversary recording re-release.

I also find it weird theres no Lindsay mendez, she played the role for the 10th anniversary and was a rather popular Elphaba.

Grande can’t act her way out of a paper bag.  Sad how she just sings the song without any connection to the lyrics.  She even adds the nuanced bits from the cast recording as her “acting.”   This poor girl is not getting Elphaba in the film. 

She’s a singer, not an actress by any stretch.

I'm a big Ariana fan (obviously considering my picture) and I can admit she isn't the best actress in the world, but you also need to remember that this is a concert. She isn't acting the part because it's a literal concert. I do think she's more Glinda or Nessa than Elphaba, if she were to be cast in the film version.

Even in a concert format, I don't think she sounds good. And there's no way she could handle the vocal range or comedy of Glinda.

I am NOT a fan of Ariana at all, but was impressed with her performance today. It was effortless, like a young Mariah Carey. It won’t turn me into a fan, but she is a talented singer.
