A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Carrie Fisher was hilarious! She got a standing ovation along with a night of uproarious laughter. The show was about two hours and fifteen minutes altogether with an intermission. There were audience interaction portions as well as an audience member who was called on stage. Her retelling of her life was a pleasant surprise!

Oh boy, I'm sitting second row center next weekend lol
Ok, I'll post in this thread haha.
I can't wait to see it tomorrow!
I know you enjoyed the show, dude, but let's keep it in your pants
I'll admit, I went in as a skeptic, but wow. Tonight's performance of WISHFUL DRINKING was wonderful. Carrie Fisher was outstanding. The show itself was perfectly written. I laughed my ass off for the entire 2 hours.
Everyone, I mean everyone, should go see this. The Special Theatrical Event Tony should be brought back for this show. The audience LOVED the show tonight. I think it deserves across the board rave reviews.
Congratulations, Ms. Fisher, on an extremely successful first preview and here's to a successful run in Studio 54.
Why is there like 20 of the same thread?
Dude is probably having computer issues. Sometimes if I get booted and try to post it could go through multiple times.
This is only for a limited run, yes?

For someone not really familiar with her life, would the show still be entertaining? I'm going and I'm excited for it, but still a little skeptical.
All I can say is GO! I laughed so hard I nearly choked.
Yes, it's a limited run through January 3, 2010.
I don't think you have to know her whole autobiography. Just know that she's the daughter of Hollywood royalty and how that shaped her life.
The reason there's so many threads definitely has to do with BroadwayWorld mobile. It's weird on cellphones/BlackBerrys and hard to navigate at times.
I hope they announce an extra four weeks. I don't think you would need to know everything about her life.

when i saw it a couple nights ago, i barely knew ANYTHING about her life, but i still laughed the whole time. i haven't even ever seen a star wars movie, but i still got everything she was saying.
by far the greatest show i've seen this season, and i really, really think the special theatrical event category needs to come back!
If the audience participation is a quiz on her mom's movies then I'm good. Otherwise I'm screwed

I'm so sorry! My message kept coming up as "you've reached this page in error" on my iPhone for BWW! Next time I'll wait and use a computer. Sorry guys, I'm not crazy or a shill!
But IS it a quiz on her mom's movies? lol

That's what I kinda figured. But, you know, I had to tease you about it
Wonderful show! I could not stop laughing the entire night. Probably the most fun I've had at a show this year. I was in the rear mezz but before the show started the ushers said for us to move down, so I ended up with a front mezz center seat for $10! Carrie Fisher was hilarious and the audience participation was really amusing. It would be interesting to see it again later in the run to see how it would be different with a new audience.

I saw it tonight as well and really enjoyed it. I knew next to nothing about Carrie Fisher going in- no, I haven't seen Star Wars- but found it very funny. I'd like to go back when I'm less fatigued to enjoy it more.
Did anyone stage door? I normally don't unless I know someone in the show. But I've been a huge fan of her's for so long. In fact when I was a freshman in high school (fifteen years ago) we had to write fan letters in English class. I chose Carrie Fisher. I'm, currently, uploading what I received in reply.
OH MY GOD. Hilarious. I may have peed my pants. Such an entertaining night!
Stagedoor wasn't crowded at all. She only went to one side then someone asked her to come over to our side and she signed a few (I lucked out). She didn't seem to enthused by the whole thing.
AND MERYL WAS THERE.
Hm...if she wasn't enthused I wonder if she'd pose for a pic.
this show was SO HILARIOUS. i can't stop thinking about it!!
