War Paint: Patti vs Christine

Who do you guys think is giving the stronger performance?

It's PATTI, not PATTY.

LuPone is giving the stronger performance IMO, but I also think the material is slightly partial to her. Ebersole is also excellent. Pitting them against each other is counterproductive to the ultimate message of the piece.

Fixed it! Where was my head?! And didn't Christine get better reviews out of town?

A better question would be which of these two singing divas wins the Ken Watanabe elocution award?

Definitely Patti would win that award.

If one of these divas is nominated for a Tony and the other doesn't, there will be hell to pay!

While Patti got more laughs, her dialogue was pretty difficult to understand for most of her scenes. I saw the second preview, so things could have been worked on.

I think Christine's performance is subtle and layered, while Patti's seems...easy? For the lack of a better word. I never got the feeling that she was challenging herself outside of the accent.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

They should sing BOSOM BUDDIES as an encore.
