It's going to be Ben Platt -- of course! (Not that there's anything wrong with that...)

I wonder what the odds are of Jake reprising his Seymour. That would be great. I remember reading Joseph Gordon-Levitt was attached to this once, which I would still be happy with. Ben Platt would be great too, if they went younger.
The real challenge is casting Audrey. Ellen Greene left such ginormous shoes to fill.

Berlanti, grrr. He gets to play around with superheroes and date a hot athlete, and now he gets to direct one of my favorite musicals. He's basically living my dream life, except he sucks at it.
The original movie is just about perfect. Why do we need another one?

Why not a live TV version of it instead?

You beat me to it: A FOX version with Lady Gaga and THEN re-do it.

Everything will be CGI and it will be terrible. Case closed.

I loved the 1986 movie and the musical, but I'd almost rather not see a name in this. I'd also like to see this movie be more faithful to the original musical.

Why God WHY???! It makes absolutely NO sense commercially OR artistically. As has been said above the Frank Oz movie is perfect as it is (even more so now we can see the original miniature shoot) and relies totally on the innocence and charm of the cast AND the puppet. Stunt casting and an animated plant would rob it of both. AND Howard Ashman's script. Which is tantamount to treason. Brexit, Trump and now THIS!

The original film is fantasic so I don't really see a reason for a remake, but Lady Gaga and Jake Gyllenhaal would be perfect.

one of the most unnecessary movie remakes in history. the original is perfect. i doubt this will even really happen but still the idea is ridiculous.

There are so many musicals that could use a film version, I just don't understand the point of remaking something like this. The biggest problem almost every production since the original has had, is that Ellen Greene wasn't in it. It's one of the few musicals that have a performance so ingrained with the original star, that it's just pointless to do again.

Margot Robbie and Joseph Gordon Levitt would be a nice pairing.

The original is a perfect little movie. A remake is completely unnecessary, even if they're planning on going with the original ending. But I'd welcome a live broadcast.

Is there a single person that would choose to watch Rocky Horror Live over the original movie?
I'm starting to think we're living in a real-life 'Westworld' and that weaselie English turd with tourettes is running the show.

I can live with them doing a live musical TV event, but this is one musical that really wasn't begging for a major motion picture remake. The original 1986 film, even with its revised ending is pretty damn near perfect.
This news is almost as perplexing as Steven Spielberg wanting to lens a remake of the 10 time Academy Award winning classic, "West Side Story".
What is Hollywood going to try to remake next? "Singin' in the Rain"? "Chicago"?

Because no one remakes great movies and reduces them to garbage. Oh wait. I forgot about Psycho, Poltergeist, Planet of the Apes, The Stepford Wives, Carrie, and many others.

What a wonderful idea. Ellen Greene was like listening to nails on a chalk board[why not a different ethnicity] and I need a dentist that isn't a paint by numbers comedian like Steve Martin[in this].
