I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Be More Chill gets 0 nominations.
I'm pretty sure that Girl From the North Country is taking the Lunt in the spring so I think we may see:
Hadestown
Tootsie
The Prom
Girl From the North Country

Posted: 1/2/19 at 8:49pmI feel everyone is forgetting Ain't Too Proud. It's between Be More Chill and this for the 4th spot in my opinion right now. Girl from north country gets it though if they transfer to the Lunt

Posted: 1/3/19 at 12:09amI feel like the tony awards should really differentiate best play- script and best play- production. Its years like this(and last year) that I think would benefit from such a change.

I agree.

Posted: 1/3/19 at 11:03pmI know Ill be disappointed in Tony night, but I just want Jeremy Pope to win for best actor, so very badly. Ive never been so moved by a performance like I was with his. He should at the very least be nominated!

I completely forgot about Choir Boy! I know someone who saw it, and they LOVED it! Hopefully, it gets recognition.

Just off the top of my head...
Best choreography is either going to Cher Show or The Prom, I think.
Bob Mackie is a given for costume design.
Beetlejuice could definitely take scenic design.
Leading actress I think wil go to Stephanie I Block, and Teal could will at lest get a Featured Actress nomination.
I think George Salazar could potentially get a Featured Actor nomination, as well. Other than that I don't forsee Be More Chill getting nominated for anything else unless they make big changes compared to off-Broadway.

YES! I was able to see Rachel Bay Jones in DEH, Jenn Colella in Come From Away, Stephanie J Block in the PBS broadcast of Falsettos, and Kate Baldwin in "Hello, Dolly!". In my opinion, all of the nominees were more deserving than RBJ. Stephanie was the most in mine though.

Simply based on this short video, I think that Kiss Me, Kate/Warren Carlyle will be the frontrunner for Best Choreography:

And apparently the Tootsie choreo is particularly smart. Should be a good race! The more worthy nominees, the better.

I’m not convinced this is enough to make it front runner, as this is by far the biggest dance number in the show, so it is unlikely to be sustained throughout the show.

Fair enough. “Frontrunner” is premature, although I don’t doubt it will be in the running.

What about Ain't Too Proud...that will be probably nominated along with Tootsie, Hadestown and The Cher Show.

Not to mention Spencer Liff, who surely deserves a nomination for his work on Head Over Heels.

I think HOH will be forgotten about once TONY time comes around but we'll see

Posted: 1/4/19 at 4:16pmAfter seeing To Kill a Mockingbird, I think Jeff Daniels will definitely get a nod. I think if Celia Keenan-Bolger goes featured, she'll be a strong contender there. I also think Gideon Glick should be recongnized for his work. I think he might be my favorite featured male performance of the season so far.

Since there were 6 nominated in lead actress in a musical last season, will 6 be nominated for best lead actor in a play this season? The list is really strong.
Jeff Daniels
Bryan Cranston
Jeremy Pope
Paddy from the Ferryman (last name is escaping me)
Ethan Hawks
Adam Driver
Michael Urie
Nathan Lane
Bertie Carvel maybe?
Pretty stacked potentially. Should be a very interesting race

Unless, two actors get exactly the same number of votes in the fifth spot, then it will be five.
For me, the locks for this category are Jeff Daniels, Bryan Cranston, and Paddy Considine. Im sure Jeremy Pope get a nomination too but Ill wait until reviews come out tonight to say he’s a lock. Last spots will probably go to Michael Urie, Nathan Lane, or Jim Parsons.

Carvel won the Olivier for Best Supporting Actor, and by all accounts it's not the lead role. And I'm sure he's learned his lesson after the last time he was on Broadway in an acclaimed London import (Matilda) –– got nominated in Leading for a Supporting performance, and then didn't win.
