Forget "SOON!" It is NOW!
Or past even, I just got home from seeing it and I'm running so high off adrenaline I'm scaring my friend...I'm sure. :-P See, even now she is banging her head on my bed.....and now she is laughing hysterically as she reads what I type.....
"Shut UP, I let you rant over Harry Potter......"
Anywho, so I just saw it and it was amazing. Holy ****. I mean seriously, I can't find words, I need to give my mind time to absorb. I'll post more tommorow when I'm more lucid (need proof of my obvious insanity? Just read above...yeah see, now you agree with me....) But holy ****ing hell it was incredible! OK, I'll stop scaring people now.....and if you're reading this Anthony, I'm in awe. And hi!
Well, hope everyones having a good night.....er....morning....aaaaand now my friend is burying her face in her hands and shaking her head....and now she's choking.....and hitting me and hitting her head on my arm....definitly time to go...OH and she's a RENT virgin and she loved it. "OW!" don't hit me, I heard you sobbing. OK, bye all!
(And thus concludes Mika's RENT/generally insane rant of the day...)

DREAMCATCHER! YOU'RE SOOOOO LUCKY!!! I know you feel my pain of how much high school sucks. But today is a half day because of Thanksgiving, so I'm going at 2.
Ben, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It really is stories like yours that make Rent so powerful - couldn't have said it better myself.
Happy RENT day, everybody!!
Yes, I'm just a tad hyper right now. This school day will be the single slowest day of my life. And I can't buy my tickets online because of my stupid small town theaters. Ohmygoddddddd, I can't wait for this day to be over.
Lmao, that video was so weird. Especially the banana.
Oh, and is it weird that I'm seeing the movie twice today? Hahah.

Well I'm still up.......heh....silly soda I had with the movie.....
Anyways, just read the posts that I missed during the day and as others have said, thank you for sharing your story Ben.
That really is incredible.
And yeah, today was just like "Random RENT spaz day." and my friend can vouche for me when I say that upon leaving that theatre, I could not wipe the smile off my face. I'm sort of surprised its not stuck that way. 0_0 Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the movie! I'm going to see it again tommorow to re-absorb.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
But for those who have seen the movie, normally I don't much like the "pookie" line in Tango Maureen, but I had to squee a little bit after the song when Mark just gives Joanne this look and gives this quirky little "Pookie!". It was so ****ing adorable. I loved the Tango Maureen so much, right down to the goofy, dreamy grin Anthony got on his face as he was being roused to conciousness at the end. :-P I almost died laughing. Anyways, felt the need to share...carry on.

Happy Rent Day! I just started reading the NY Post's review of Rent, and had to share this quote:
"Anthony Rapp, a man so white he makes me look like Marvin Gaye..."
-Kyle Smith, movie critic, NY Post.
The rest of that sentence, and the review for that matter, is meh, but I LOVE that description, and the first thing I thought of is that I HAD to post it here!

Posted: 11/23/05 at 10:04amOkay, so, an hour and a half until I see RENT! I have OD'd on Anthony (Adventures in Babysitting, Open Houe, Far From Home, David Searching) and Adam (SLC Punk, School of Rock). Okay, I'm gonna go to the theater now *AHHHHHHHH*, I'll have to bring my knitting (Mark Scarf, of course!) for the wait, because it's gonna feel like DAYS until the movie comes on. Happy Renting everyone!!!

OD-ing on Anthony is never a bad thing. When we first got netflix, I went crazy. David Searching, Adventures in Babysitting, Dazed and Confused, Road Trip, and the L&O and X-Files episodes he was in. Yeah, I'm slighty insane. Oh well.
I should go get ready or something.

Ok first the lighter of the two topics. Kyle's hair
Some of you are hating on the length but I love it! The last time Kyle got his hair cut was either February or early March 2005 and it was a very sad day. Not only does he look great with long hair (he also looks great with short but the long is just awesome) but it is so much fun to play with! The day he cuts his hair short again (which will most likely be for a show) will be a day that some joy is taken out of many of his female friends lives.
Now the more serious...Marfans
I was not aware that the heart condition was most likely due to Marfans...for me that is really scary because I have it. I have have all of the symptoms of the disease but right now my heart is fine. However, I could, like Jonathon, suddenly have the heart condition start. I have never known anyone else with the disease and honestly did not know that you can develop the heart problems. I was just inspired right now to make sure I am tested every year...

Posted: 11/23/05 at 2:29pmAhh no one's on here talking about it yet! I saw it at 10 this morning, and I'm going again at 4:30 because a friend wanted to see it today & with me but couldn't miss school. Not that I MIND going to see it twice in one day, of course. So what did everyone else think???
Fan: Oh my god! You're, like, standing right there and, like, looking right at me and, like, oh my god! Anthony Rapp: Yes, that's a pretty accurate discription of reality.

I have seen it and the tango eyebrow raise made me scream: "ANTHONY IS A SEXY GEEK!" Some girl a few rows behind me and my friends agreed and we squeed!
My favorite part was the very very very last thing, after all the credits...four words on a blank screen (the same four words my friends and I screamed as we sent four claps up to heaven) that is how everyone who connects to this story sees it:
Thank You Jonathan Larson.
2. Great buckets of Spoffnor, they're going to sing!
3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme
5. "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -The History Boys
6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys

I waited for that, because I had heard it was at the end. I was hoping it would be before the end credits, though, because only a few other people were there long enough to see it.
And yes, Anthony is a sexy geek.

Yeah, as I said befor eI have it to. The thing about MArfans, is that if it is diagnosed and treated it is gnerally not an issue, however the danger comes when you one is not aware that they have it.
Make sure your doctor is aware of Marfans and you will be fine.:)

I just came back from seeing Rent.
Wow.
I don't even know what to say. It's like the perfect world and a nightmare all put together on a screen. Perfect world because love and friendship prevails over everything and no one hates without reason. Nightmare because those you love are dying and hurting. The movie was so amazing; I really just don’t know what to say about it except that the hope which comes from seeing it will long outlast it's stay in theaters. Congratulations to Anthony and everyone else- you guys have helped breath life into something indescribable. And all those who said it is not relevant anymore- tell that to the people who snickered when Angel and Collins kiss in the park, but then had tears in their eyes at the funeral.
Caitiesus1522- I hope you are alright, take good care of yourself, please.
I must respond to the newest topic:
Anthony is a sexy geek? Lol, yes, I’ll agree to that! I couldn’t take my eyes off him during the movie! Really, cutness like that should be illegal.

Posted: 11/23/05 at 3:20pmHaha I agree. Did you read "Hollywood's 'Rent' Check" in the Washington Post? They focused a lot on Anthony, which I loved. They interviewed him and ended with a really nice quote from him. I hate when only Rosario, Idina, Taye, and Jesse are mentioned because they have more "star power"... not that I don't love them, but Anthony cannot be ignored. He's too amazing in this role. I thought Jesse was fantastic, too. He's having waaaay too much fun in Santa Fe, gotta love it.

"Come on Maureen this isn't my Bar Mitzvah!"
I was LMAO when I heard that. The movie was amazing, I loved it. I think it's the first time during a movie where I wasn't bored at some point. I wish it could of been longer.
Also, funny this happened during LVB. I went with my mom to see it, because no one else wanted to go at noon. Pfft. Well, a few weeks ago I explained what Mark hands were, and then during LVB she leaned over and whispered "Mark Hands!!"
I was very proud.

I squeed at so many random parts of the movie.
The bar mitzvah line.
At Maureen's mom after TMOLM.
The slightly random slow motion at the end LVB when Mark is rockin out on the table.
The people around me probably thought I was ill or something.

Yes...no more soon icon....though we could use it for when the DVD will come out....:)
"The slightly random slow motion at the end LVB when Mark is rockin out on the table. "
That was an amazing moment.
I loved The Eyebrow. When he raised it, then Tracie did, I almost fell over.
Amazing dancing Anthony.
