emcee im loving your avatar! like a lot and dont worry.. all of BWW can vouch for you!
i saw it at 11 am this morning and was completely blown away. people have got to be heartless not to enjoy that. haha okay so that may be harsh. but still i think i started crying as soon as seasons of love started. i stopped periodically, but never for long. i laughed out loud many times, and at times I was so sucked into the performances I almost clapped when they numbers were finished( then i realized it was a movie :]) I was bouncing up in down in my seat for all of la vie boheme. at that precise moment i really wished i had a table to dance on. and in the rent sense, not sexual haha. the cast did such an amazing job. they all took stage characters and added all the subtle things that make actors fantastic. wilson jermaine heredia was hysterical and so sweet, idina menzel made me laugh everytime she made a face( esp during over the moon), rosario dawson and tracie thoms completely convinced me that i should love them, and anthony and adam pascal were so darn cute! in fact, im going again in about four hours and i cannot wait. that was such a wonderful experience and i just want the whole world to have it. yay anthony...... you were absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben, thanks for sharing your story!
"Anthony Rapp, a man so white he makes me look like Marvin Gaye..."
I find it so funny that everyone always pokes fun at Anthony's whiteness, including Anthony himself.
I have seen it and the tango eyebrow raise made me scream: "ANTHONY IS A SEXY GEEK!"
Me and Alex LOOOOOOVED that part. One of his best facial expressions in the whole movie, right up there with his reaction to Maureen's mom at the end of TMOLM.
"Come on Maureen this isn't my Bar Mitzvah!"
Teeeheee... loved that line.
I read a RENT review in the Daily Herald today, in which it only got 2 1/2 stars, and in which the author sounded like he hadn't even watched anything in the film except the trailer and clips of some scenes. He was speaking of how the characters are cliche, repeatedly saying " blah blah blah with a heart of gold, blah blah blah with a heart of gold..." and proceeds to say Maureen has a heart of gold.
...
I threw the article out. Kept the picture, though.
BUT! At least there was a nice article three or four days ago about Anthony cause he grew up in Joliet.
Everybody was wonderful! Great job! Thanks so much for entertaining us for over two hours and we loved every minute of it. Congratulations to all of you on a job well done. And to Wilson who was incredible in those damned heels.

Ah, the eyebrow... one of my favorite scenes- I love Tango! Also, I must say that Out Tonight was extreamly hot, sexy, and energetic! Way to go Rosario! Also La Vie Boheme I could watch forever, it is so awesome. I love the proposal, it made me get this huge grin on my face. I gave a death gaze to the girl sitting next to me who said "Oh God, that's so dumb", what is with people thinking that the 'idea' of gay people is alright but heaven forbid they actually see real emotion instead of hot guys making out and hot girls trying to get guy's attention by being all over each other? Rent has always given me the hope that people will someday realize that it's all love, pure and true love just like heterosexual couples. It's so nice to see something that makes everything seem normal, because too many times homosexuality in the media is made to be a big deal, but with Rent it just is what it is.
I seriously am gonna have to see this movie at least 8 times so I can just stare at one character the entire time. I always felt like I was missing something when I didn't focus on a particular person in a scene, if that makes any sense. I loved everyone's performance:
-Anthony's facial expressions and honesty as 'our' Mark.(Why do I always consider him ours? Maybe because so many people can relate to him so easily?)
-Jesse and the way that he really shows his heart and soul in close up.
-Idina and how she can be bitchy, cute, and full of life all at once.
-Rosario and how she doesn't look or feel like she does in interviews because her character is so fresh and new.
-Wilson's way of makeing Angel so human so that even the most close-minded person will have to smile at him.
-Adam's rawness and how he puts so much soul into his singing and acting and makes you just want to stare into his eyes (this especially for me during "You're Eyes" his cry at the end sent shivers through me).
-Taye and the way he gave Benny a heart, when sometimes in the stage show (depending on the actor) people end up hating him.
-Tracie's beauty and grace as Joanne, you can't help but wish you are able to make it all better when you see the heartbreak she feels during the film.

Wow, this is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while...
"Martin went on to become a "Law & Order" regular after his initial "Rent" success, but "L&O" ubiquity has its drawbacks: Bopping down the sidewalks of New York, Martin's Tom Collins appears to be doing undercover police work dressed as a Lower East Side bohemian."
It was from a review in the Chicago Tribune. It wasn't a bad review, but I mean WHAT?! That was so random and dumb, especially when there were so many amazing things about Jesse's performance that could have been mentioned instead.
Wow, every review has said Anthony was amazing. Not that I'm surprised, but even ones who hated the movie liked the cast and mentioned him as a standout.
Ok I think every review I have read has mentioned Adam's Bon Jovi-esque hair and how his scene in Santa Fe seems exactly like "Blaze of Glory".
okay i JUST got back from seeing the movie!!. oh my god, i'm so overwhelmed. i cant even function right now. One thing I want to say though--during what you own these two girls behind me started hysterically laughing and i thought it was so incredibly rude until i realized they were laughing at the cliff! and i started hysterically laughing and all my friends were like whats wrong with you. If anyone went to lynnbrook theatre today at 7 show, thats so funnyyy, i cant get over that.
ahahha ME 2!!!!! ...i cried sooo hard....and i NEVER cry.
Haha I can see that post being made again in months and still being just as funny. It will always be "The Cliff" to us now. Unfortunately, I guess. We aren't exactly saying, "Wow, what an amazing and not at all corny scene!"
Cliff, Magic Cliff... Cliff, Magic Cliff... *dances David Bowie LABYRINTH style*
I feel silly.
