Not a Celine fan At ALL, but: RAGS
The thing I love about Celine is that she puts a lot of heart into her music. Yeah, it's cheesy and over the top a lot of the time, but, so what?
Plus, she's preserved her voice much better than Whitney or Mariah.
Celine Dion is amazing
Fiona- Shrek
Alice B- Addams Family
Patrice- 13 (LOL JK :P)
I'd love to just hear her sing Elphaba... not necessarily play her but sing it!
haha i like inick122492's profile pic! lol
I wouldn't put her in anything...until proven she can act, and I've never seen any evidence of that. (She might have it, though.)
Just because one can sing (and sing passionately in this case) doesn't mean she belongs on B'way.
I would LOVE her to be in a Broadway musical, I adore her voice, I don't know if she can act though, but if she can:
I have no idea of a character for her.. I think she should be in a show like Phanthom of the Opera, but I guess she could be in a funny show as well..
I would love to see her as Evita though, as I just love that musical..
A lot of these choices are great. Esp Fantine and Evita. Maybe Norma Desmond? If she can act, I say put her in whatever she wants. She's a hell of a singer and would be a huge box office draw.
And, a Broadway album at the least would be excellent.

Honestly, if she sings like she does in this clip, I could care less about her acting chops. It'd probably cost less than going to a concert anyway.

I guess if she can play Vegas and sell out nightly for 5 years, she could easily dig her heels into a Broadway house for 6 months to a year, especially if she incorporates some Cirque Du Soleil tomfoolery. She could do a Broadway revue singing standards and showtunes. That would make my day. As far as Celine on Broadway being cheaper than a concert, I wouldn't bet on it. I am sure the premium seat prices would be insane and would sell at those prices. Seeing Celine in a 1500-3000 seat house as opposed to an arena or stadium would come at a premium, especially to pay her what she makes touring.
A Broadway songlist for Celine:
Defying Gravity
I'm Not That Girl
Don't Cry For Me ...
I Dreamed a Dream
West End Avenue
Being Alive
Unusual Way
Be On Your Own
Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered
Back To Before
Nobody's Side
Someone Else's Story
Edelweiss
My Favorite Things
Stay With Me
The Last Midnight
Happiness
Hey, I guess I like her more than I thought if I want to hear her sing all of these songs ...
I really like the idea of her as Donna in Mamma Mia! and The Narrator in Joseph... Dreamcoat. Fantine in Les Mis was a good idea too. Although that role might be too small for her.

Celine - Bewitched, Bothered, & Bewildered
That version of Bewitched is lovely. Its amazing what her voice can do when she sings simply and isn't doing the vocal fireworks.

re: "I don't think Donna in "Mamma Mia" is very good for her".
I don't think it would be very good for the show either because it would spoil it for every other Donna to come along after. And Mamma Mia has the the potential to run forever and break the record at the Winter Garden.
But the role of Donna was the first thought that came to my mind, and I can always fantasize.
It would have been cool to see Celine in the movie version instead of Meryl Streep.
Robot Christine!
Celine belongs where she is and NOT on the broadway stage! God help us all!

Please NO! Keep her away from Broadway! ...or maybe a roll where she does not sing
I'm surprised she has yet to step onto a Broadway stage, or at least make a Broadway album. What with her theatrical voice and presence. Does anyone know if she has ever expressed any interest in musical theatre?

"In all seriousness, The Narrator in Joseph/Dreamcoat."
Now wait, this could actually work. Celine Dion has the pipes for this role, and the Narrator herself doesn't exactly have a set character in the script to go off of, so Celine could really do whatever she wanted with the material.
Does anyone know if she has ever expressed any interest in musical theatre?
It's a stretch, but here comes the "six degrees of Kevin Bacon"-esque story of Celine's only involvement with musical theater that I know of, and Elfuhbuh will appreciate this because she's a (somewhat-)fan of the show involved:
In 1996, Celine had a huge smash hit with "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," written by Jim Steinman. Seeking a big follow-up by the same guy, she cut a tune by Steinman and frequent Broadway lyricist Don Black called "Is Nothing Sacred." It was supposed to be on the big follow-up album, but due to a publishing dispute (she wanted to own at least part of the publishing, Steinman said no), it didn't make the final cut. Still, the Celine track leaked at some point and has been out there.
Well, here's the Broadway connection at long last... at one point in the stages of rewrite that resulted in Tanz der Vampire becoming Dance of the Vampires, "Is Nothing Sacred" was a part of the show. And, as he and Andrew Lloyd Webber had done with Whistle Down the Wind, a celebrity recording of songs from the show was initially planned. Names like Bono, Mary J. Blige, Bette Midler, and Michael Crawford (who eventually got the show as well, but the less said about that, the better) were kicked around. Given "Is Nothing Sacred" having a place in the show at the time, Steinman at one point intended on dusting off this Celine vault track for the celebrity album. The celebrity album, of course, never happened, and neither did "Is Nothing Sacred" -- it was cut at some point in re-drafting.
That's as close as Celine's ever gotten to Broadway so far, to my knowledge.
I saw an interview with her years ago that said she would like to do a musical one day. I'm a huge fan of hers so I hope it actually does happen.
Has she ever sung any Piaf?
