"SInce Ripley plays Diana fairly histrionic and over the top, I wonder what Ana or Celine could do with the part."
We've already seen (well, those of us who saw her) a superb lower octane Diana: Marin Mazzie's.
A few years back (well maybe more than a few) I think she would have been well suited for the lead in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. She's always struck me as a bit masculine (definitely not a stylish Mame Dennis type). Her PERFECT STRANGERS and last note in I HAVE SEEN THE WRITING ON THE WALL could've been really good.
She's recorded songs from the French musical "StarMania" (The World Is Stone, Ziggy etc.), which are very good.

I just was thinking yesterday about how much I'd love to see Celine on Broadway. Such an incredible artist and vocalist.
Love to see Ms Dion as Henry IV
I suppose an obvious choice would be Grizabella.
As a massive, long-standing admirer of the sea lion, I think she would clearly bring the house down as Mrs Danvers...
I'd like to hear her sing The Witch in Into the Woods.

You know, when they finally decide to try and put CATS back on Broadway (which we all know they will one of these days), the only thing that'd save the show would be Celine Deion as
Grizabella. That's a guaranteed sell out every night of her run.
That really would make me want to buy a ticket! And vocally speaking, she's obviously more than capable.
